So this happened and now I can’t wear bling for two? months....

I live in Canada and we’ve been having crazy weather. Lots of rain and then freezing temperatures.....
We had some snow during the night and I was shoveling because my husband can’t right now as he’s having hernia surgery next Thursday.
I slipped on the ice and landed on my hand. I knew right away I broke my wrist. First thing I though of was the elderly people I help, along with a few swear words. I feel so bad, there’s a couple that really depend on me.

I had ketamine to put me out to have it set. What a trip!! Apparently people ‘snort’ it to get high! I guess I now know what it feels like but don’t understand the desire to use it.

I’ll be reading lots more on this site as I’m not allowed to do anything. Going to have to figure out meals, I have two teen sons!
Well, I'd say this is a perfect opportunity to teach them how to cook! :appl:

Hope you mend quickly!

@Weecam :( so sorry about your fall. I fell yesterday and I AM elderly, walking the dog with my crampons on on the side of the road and starting to cross back to the otherside I hit the raised part of the road and down I went, smashed my knee, but NOT broken, my husband freaked as I have 2 hip replacements.. Not walking today (morning anyway). I did something similary in Florence a year ago, that was worse, 3 hunky guys had to help me up !

I am so sorry about the break, the boys and hubster all needing you.. but take care of yourself as best you can.

sending you a huge hug.

Oh man! Wishing you speedy healing!

So sorry! By all means BEDAZZLE it! Have a Bedazzle party so you can have some fun and get sympathy too. Go on the internet and Google 'bedazzled (or decorated) casts' and pick a favorite or customize your own. Good luck.

Wow weecam, that’s no fun! Hopefully you got your shoveling finished before you broke it?

As for Quebec, it is a beautiful place. I lived outside of Montreal as a kid from 1974-1977. Minnesota where I lived before that and have since, gets more snow and is colder. Neither place is good for broken bones!

Teen boys will live microwave food in large quantities - ala Costco!

Oh noooooo!!!!! I'm so sorry!! Well... maybe now is the time to divert some attention to your face and buy earrings... and a necklace! ;)

Oh no @Weecam I’m so sorry, I hope it heals well and quickly.

Oh no! I’m so sorry! I have a driveway like Mt. Everest and risk life and limb just fetching the mail in snow and ice! I guess the positive in this is, as much as others depend on you, this will help your sons learn some additional self reliance. Wishing you a speedy recovery! :wavey:

Oh no! I hope it heals quickly! Think on the bright side? Thank goodness it’s not your leg! I agree with @monarch64 That wrap needs to be bedazzled!

Yes DH just went to Costco and spend $200. That should last a few days with teen boys...

Poor girl :knockout: Get well soon, @Weecam!

@Weecam, I am so sorry the happened to you! I hope it heals quickly and you don't have to have surgery. I would totally bedazzle the heck out of that cast. Definitely a way to perk you up while you wait. I have never seen that before. Note to self, if I ever break a bone........
BTW, perfect time to get your boys to wait on you hand and foot. Please don't let this opportunity pass. LOL.
My hubby and I have been sick with a cold virus and yesterday he was having a bit of inner ear dizziness from it. He asked my two at home to do what he usually does outside and they did all his chores without even batting an eye. Makes my heart happy and its good for them!

I’ve got my furry friends keeping me company! :kiss2::kiss2::kiss2:
I wonder if they can put away the Xmas tree.....
They're BEAUTIFUL!! What great company, injured or not! XOXO

Hello fellow Minnesotan! :) Honestly the weather we are having now - unseasonably warm and sunny - freaks me out! I was all prepared for the hard winter we were supposed to get.

@Weecam sending best wishes for quick healing. I tripped on the sidewalk on Sunday and turned my ankle (though thankfully not sprained or broken) so I'm crossing my fingers that's my one hard fall for this winter... I usually have one every year. Last year I fell right on my butt and had a big bruise. :lol-2:

I hope your recovery is as swift as possible, Weecam. I wrote about my December 23 fall elsewhere. No arm injuries because I failed to break my fall; I went flat on my face on the asphalt. I still do not have a new pair of glasses and the lens on my right side is badly scratched up but at least I no longer have huge scabs all over my face! My knees are still black and blue, though. :))

Here ya go @Weecam a flash from the past so you know you are not alone. You will get through it but yeah it sucks while you are recovering. Hoping you are feeling better with each passing day and that your healing goes well.

I didn't adorn my cast but yes I adorned myself haha. Bling everywhere but my cast. Remember you have another hand and wrist and 5 fingers that can enjoy diamonds and other bling.

And for everyone and their dh's who are under the weather...

And she does have that delicious new CBI pendant too!! :P2

I’m very thankful that it wasn’t my hip or leg. OMG @missy that must have been awful!!!
I’m looking forward to my shower today as soon as my DH wraps my arm! :lol-2:
Someone has to teach him how to put my hair in a ponytail! Ugh :wall:

Funny enough when I got home after the hospital I suddenly remembered to check to see if my necklace was still on my neck! You never know what could happen when you’re on ketamine! Especially when there’s a CBI blinding them! Thankfully I didn’t have my rings on because I was shoveling. I was told that they may have needed to be cut off if I was wearing them! OMG :o
