oh gosh I feel for your brother. Ignorance and intolerance enrages me. My aunt is gay..I knew it as a child but I do remember when she came out to my grandmother. She was mortified (don''t know why since my aunt was more manly than my uncle) but I guess reality hit and my grandmother wouldn''t talk to my aunt. My aunt was so hurt and I remember talking to my grandmother. I was 11 yr old and told her that just because she''s gay doesn''t mean she''s not the same Maria we love..she''s still the same person and will always be that same person. I asked my grandmother if my aunt was to die would you cry? Would you miss her? Then don''t let her die..love her for the good person you helped her become. My mom told me my talk really hit home with my aunt. I remember this like it was yesterday but it was 30 yr ago. They didn''t talk for 4 mo but eventually my grandmother gave in

I sure hope that your extended family will remember your brother is still the person they love and won''t push him away. If they do it''s their loss not his. He''s doing nothing wrong and owed no one an explanation. We aren''t made gay (as many ignorant ppl may think)...we are born and will be who we are meant to be.
