I try being good but it''s no use. I bought a pair of red garnets and a small cat''s eye chrysoberyl from Art Cut Gems. Here''s the vendor pic and it''s pretty representative of the color but what it doesn''t show is how much they sparkle! The garnets are 6mm and about 2.2 ctw.

On my hand.

In the box, looking kind of lifeless. The picture makes them look somewhat brown but they''re not at all.

1.15 ct Cat''s eye chrysoberyl. This is the vendor''s pic, shrunk to fit the upload reqs. It''s a pretty accurate picture for color but the eye is much sharper in person.

On my hand. My pics make it look blue-green-grey when it''s actually yellow-green-brown.

This is what it looks like without a direct light source, although more in focus. :)

And sitting on the box lid. The picture makes it look like I photoshopped it in.

Great stones Kismet. I love the garnets. How are you going to set them?

Beautiful!! I love it. Your plans for these lovelys??

I like them all. I guess you''re making earrings right? Those should look great set. And the cats eye stone is lovely.

Thanks ladies! The garnets are going to be earring charms. I think I''ll set them in a plain basket setting but star set rather than square set.

The chrysoberyl will go into a ring, probably a plain bezel of some sort.

Very nice - love the garnets and the chrysoberyl has a lovely body colour.

I''ve always had fab stones from Rick.

Lovely, all around. I was sorely temped by those garnets, I''m glad you nabbed them! They look really lovely, as does the chrysoberyl, it''s a beautiful whipped-honey color.

Oh I'm glad that you keep buying and sharing your photos with us. Lovely new stones. I can't wait to see how the earring charms turn out.

ETA: ARRGG now you have me looking at that site. Lovely stones...

Very nice stones. Thanks for the pictures.

(BTW, I''m trying to resist this sale because Richard Homer will be in town tomorrow, and I want some $$$ in my pocket for that. I can hardly wait...

Very cool cutting on the garnets and they are so evenly matched in colour and shape. The chrysoberyl is pretty too. You won''t hear me complaining about your lack of willpower if you keep plying us with pictures.

Wow, all are great!

I got the garnets set as earring charms in just a plain basket setting.

And on the earrings on which I''ll wear them.

And, finally, the ear shot.

Nice earrings!

Love the earring colour!

I like earring charms because they can be interchanged into any hoop or leverback earrings. Plus, the movement will allow the colour to flash more often. Well done.

I love how you did your earring charms! They look great.

I love earring charms, and how they are set they are beautiful.

Oh I just love how those came out!! Is that a stuller setting or did your jeweler make them for you?

Thanks so much for sharing your photos, I used to wear dangles on my hoops and would like to start doing so again!

Thanks all! They did come out quite nicely. That''s my 3rd set of dangles for those particular hoop earrings.

Stone Hunter: I think they were stock settings since I brought them in on Friday afternoon and they were ready Saturday morning. Cheap too... right around $100.
