So far, not that good of an experience with Union Diamond

E-mails that I send take a bout a week to reply. I sent one e-mail where I asked if they have an actual real life picture of a diamond setting that I'm interested in along with some questions and some links of some diamonds that I thought were decent. A week later, I get an e-mail from Claire, talking about another diamond that I never even seen or sent her a link of. Seems like she disregarded my entire email that I sent. In the e-mail she said that the diamond will come in a few days, and it's real pretty. But it's coming from europe. It'll take a few days to get to their office. 10+ days now, I haven't even heard back from them, so I sent them another e-mail asking for a picture of the setting like in my first e-mail and asking some more questions as well as asking for the pictures of the diamond setting.

So now, a month wasted. I prefer to do things over the e-mail, but looks like I will have to call them sometime this week. Not happy and a big waste of time, but I'll give it another go chance.

Any reason you need to use this vendor?

There are many great vendors on Pricescope that will be able to help you quickly.

Customer service normally doesn't improve AFTER a purchase is made, so I would be leery about doing business with folks that have multiple CS issues before any money changes hands.

They have a diamond setting I'm interested it for a marquise cut. It's pretty hard to find nice looking marquise settings. Since they aren't popular. Most vendors don't have good marquise settings. I only seen maybe 3 good ones in like 20 websites. But I guess it's personal taste as well.

Reminds me of an expereince I had with Abazias Diamonds a while back, they didn't get my business either.

Can you post of a link of the setting? It's possible that we can find you very similar style. Have you considered doing a custom setting?

Have you looked at gerrythejeweler.com? I have been looking for a marquise setting as well and fell in love with one on his site. I finally emailed him about it yesterday and he got back to me within the hour, I know I only have 24 hours of experience to speak from but Gerry has been INCREDIBLY helpful and quick to respond to all of my questions so far.

PS vendors number one number two the stone is more important than the setting you can always find one you like and have it copied. or purchase else where an ideal cut stone is much more important ....Marquise are making their way back in popularity so they should be more settings on the market going forward
