OK everyone... This is JUST a sneak peek!! I am actually sending the ring back because they are going to redo the daisy design on the basket. They are also going to send me the custom wedding band (6-stone, u-cut, made with my 15pt. diamonds from my original wedding ring.) SO... this is just the preview... But I couldn't wait any longer to share it!!
Here are the stats...
The center stone is a 1.87ct August Vintage Cushion by Good old Gold. It is J color and SI1 clarity.
The setting is a custom design based of a million online pictures, plus my love for vintage, plus the suggestions of my designer at Green Lake Jewelry Design in Seattle, Washington. I wanted a SUBTLE halo (one that I wouldn't get "tired" of) and that was slightly angled (thanks to the suggestions of PSers). I wanted a partial split shank, and double claw prongs. I also wanted a partial eternity band. And on the sides of the basket there is a small "daisy" that has sentimental value for me. My mom's favorite flower is a daisy and she had daisies embroidered on her wedding dress. Also... the very first flowers my husband (then my BF) ever gave me were a bouquet of white daisies. So... I wanted them on my "heirloom" ring. There is a tiny diamond in the center of each daisy, and there are tiny diamonds on the posts next to the daisies. I can't remember how many diamonds are in the whole setting, but it's almost .5 ct total. And it is set in platinum. The halo is 1mm wide and the diamonds are set in a French-cut pave.
I am having the daisies redone because they are very hard to see, and I don't feel like you can actually tell what they are unless you already know.
There is engraving on the inside of the band "D&A 1994 MK. 10:9" That is for my husband's and my name, the year of our wedding, and a scripture verse that it meaningful to us. "Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."
The wedding band will be made of diamonds that were from my husband's grandmother. When I get the finished ring back, and the wedding band, I will post a "Finished!" thread!!
Thanks for looking... and thank you SO much for all of your suggestions along the way!!!
Cheers!
Amy
And I will post a few more...
