Hi all,

This is my first post, so I hope that I''m not violating any codes.

I bought my fiancee a Tacori setting from a jeweler in Boston. It''s Tacori 2502 with a 6.5mm round head to match a stone with some sentimental value.

She adores the ring, but one of the small stones in the halo around the center stone has turned a pink color. I realize that it''s probably just the metal underneath and not the stone.

Here''s my question: the jeweler said that this happens all the time and that if we bring it in, they''ll clean it and all will be well. I''m a little skeptical, however, as I don''t understand why soap&water, hand lotion, etc. would get behind one tiny stone, and not its neighbors, unless that tiny stone was not set correctly.

I always feel like I should let the jeweler try their remedy first, before asking for my own remedy (4+ weeks at Tacori?), but am looking for any expert opinions from the folks here.

Best regards,
Neil

let your jeweler clean it out professionally, probably got some pink gunk in it, and your own cleaning may not entirely take that out. I wouldn''t worry too much unless your stone is loose, there''s always going to be some sort of micro gap, its not air tight between metal and diamond

the jeweler will be able to inspect it as well as clean it - so if there is a structural issue which resulted in the issue he should be able to advise you on how to proceed.
