I am eyeing a 5 stone with .20-.25 OECs and have many photos from the seller. I would also have a 14 day return period, but want to be sure it's worth that hassle to begin with. I'll try to post all the photos the seller sent.

More images. Some of them have smaller/larger cutlets, but I don't think that would be noticeable except under my loupes. They are described as likely to appraise at G VS2, but the seller said she was selling as H SI1 stones.

I am definitely okay with some "wonkiness" (technical term!) and imperfect faceting. I find the whole piece very charming, but I want to be logical and not let my fluttering heart cloud my judgement.

Looks beautiful Rubybeth! Not an OEC expert but the setting/prongs look good (would you keep it as is or should you be factoring in a setting to the cost?) and is the size good for your finger?

They look like clear stones based on the photos- not cloudy, decent facet patterns, variety of culets.

Is the price a reasonable saving for what you could purchase new? Do you feel good about the offer? Can you get it appraised (or is it appraised already?) and return if not as posted?

Otherwise - LOVE IT!! :appl:

Thanks for taking a look, a second opinion helps. The setting is platinum and 14k yellow gold, and I actually really like it. It's about 1 size too large, but I have big knuckles so could see about sizing beads if sizing down could be an issue.

The price is good. I have looked at AVRs and AVCs in this size and color/clarity, and they're more like $500-$700 per stone, and these are about half of that. There's a 5 stone OMC unisex band on JBEG right now that's $1,525 and those stones are J/K VS2, so this price seems more than fair.

I can get it appraised quickly (probably the same day I get it) and return for any reason within 14 days, though obviously the seller would like me to be fairly sure before purchasing, hence the extra photos she so graciously sent (and quickly!).

Rubybeth--- I'd say "ADD TO CART"!!!! :appl: :appl:

You've covered your bases and it seems like a great price for a VERY nice ring!! Get it!!

The diamonds look great and you probably can't tell the differences without a loupe. ;)) That seller is really nice, I've purchased from her before. Good luck!

I think it is beautiful and the price seems to be in the right area. As long as you are ok with the difference in table sizes I would go for it.

Do you have a side view picture? I might be a bit weird, but I have no problem with wonky outlines, etc but I don't like a large difference in crown heights. So considering the table differences that might be a factor for me personally.

I adore that band and have no idea why it has not sold already. Stamp of approval!

Thanks for chiming in, ForteKitty! I am glad you recognize the seller. I am surprised how white and clean the diamonds look, though I am kind of bad at spotting inclusions. I am just worried I may be making an impulse buy, though I have had a 5 stone on my wish list for years. :cheeky: The seller responded amazingly quickly to my questions, and the extra photos are great. My DH gave the go-ahead if I'm really, really sure. I am thinking that even if I change the setting to a trellis or shared prong down the line, it's still a good deal for just the 5 well-matched stones. Is my thinking totally PS bonkers?

And now I see natascha's reply and Dreamer's stamp of approval... urgh, I should just buy it, huh?

Edited to attach a side view. It's kind of hard to tell about the crown heights, but none of them look waaay higher than the others, do they?

Oh get it!

The crown height looks good to me and the setting looks great. I really like the platinum prongs with the yellow gold.

I think it is beautiful! I adore the setting...look at those Tiffany style heads! It looks like some of the stones are transitionals, but I think they look good together!

Oh, you all are such enablers! Okay, my DH's actual quote was, "As long as some experiences Pricescopers say it's a good deal, you should get it." So I just bought it!! Aiyee, what does it mean that dropping $1,000+ didn't hurt a bit?

Yeah, the cutlets on some are really tiny, I'll try to take photos when I get it, but I am a naughty PSer and don't pull out my real camera very often. I think the 6-prong heads are really cool, too! I am not a huge fan of yellow gold, but I like the platinum heads. I am hoping to be blinded by the diamonds and not looking at the shank very often.

Man, that is gorgeous! Where are all the PSers finding such gorgeous pieces?!

I have to give thanks to jeweln who posted another item from this seller that caused me to click on the seller's store and see this item. I saw that the seller had 100% positive feedback and a return policy which I clarified with her, as per all of the advice from the regular eBayers. I would not have searched today for a 5 stone band since I really want a larger solitaire, but a 5 stone band was on my wishlist, too, and so I went for it, knowing the price was right!
