I have been looking at rings for my girlfriend for a little while now and I have been wondering something for quite a while. She has a ring size of 4.25 think that''s a little small and I''m wondering if stones or rings are going to look to big on her?? I understand the importance of the other 3C''s and I''m going with the best quality I can get but I still have a little flexibility with size and I''m wondering if her fingers are going to make things look to big?

Take a look at this chart.

A 1 carat size ideal cut round will have a coverage of about 42% of her finger. Depends on how much of her finger you want to cover. :P

For more size comparisons and finger coverage, look into this thread.

Hi Bob,

What size do you have in mind?

You can probably find photos on here of the size stone that you''re thinking about on her size fingers. That would help to give you an idea of what it might look like.

Good idea Addy! Try the Eyecandy Folder in Show me the Ring, often the carat weight and finger sizes are noted.

I wear a size 4 1/4 (4 in winter). I have a 2ct round and I don''t find it too large on my fingers. I think if I had side stones it could be harder to pull off, but it''s a solitaire.

The other thing you need to take into consideration is how flamboyant she is. I wear a 5.25 and when I was searching for my setting, I tried it on with a 2ct emerald cut (the designer sent it that way). It was too big for my hand, based on my tastes and style. I felt like I was wearing costume jewelry and wasn''t comfortable at all. I ended up buying a 1ct radiant instead. So, what may work for one woman may well not work for another. Fun huh?

LOL

Good luck deciding!
