Experts,

The Vendor and the Sarin report give slightly different numbers for depth, table, etc. When I enter the Vendor''s numbers into HCA I receive a 1.6 ("Excellent within TIC range"), but when I enter the Sarin numbers I receive a 2 ("Very Good - Worth buying if the price is right"). Which numbers are likely to be more accurate -- the Vendor''s numbers or the Sarin numbers?

Thanks!

The numbers will never be exactly the same. There are variations depending on the person using the machine or taking the manual measurements.

If there is a large discrepancy, then you should ask the vendor. Just recenly there was a good discrep between the cert. numbers and the vendor numbers. It turned out the cert. lab was using the average diagonal and horizontal measurement of a square stone.

An independent appraiser will be able to confirm whether or not the numbers are 'within' tolerance. If they are within a couple of hundreths, I think that's ok. One of the appraisers here would be able to better answer.

The ideal-scope image confirms it is a nice stone.
You are buying a diamond I think, and not a report
