Sleepy Blue Spinel ring

Just realized i never posted any real life pics of this ring.

3.24ct sleepy blue spinel from Tan, approx 8x7mm, setting made by Daniel M in 14k white gold.

Please excuse the extremely dry skin.. i was driving to work when i took these, and didn't have any lotion on yet!

first set was from the car this morning.. this set was taken just now at work. It's a deep stone, that's why it's so much higher than the sides!

Amy- the sides are half moons, but they're not diamonds... I only spent $200 on the spinel so i couldn't justify spending $$$ on diamond sidestones.

Thanks! I know sleepy gems arent everyone's cup of tea but I just love how pretty the color looks. It's a shifter too! Turns violet in fluorescent lighting, and a pure blue outdoors.

I am not usually a blue-stone fan, but OMG that sleepy glow makes the ring like a velvet pillow for my eyes! Great setting job by Daniel M too - love how classic it looks, while the sleepiness gives it a cool bit of edginess. The proportions are just beautiful! I think my next project will have to be to get a sleepy cushion *plots*
