Skype? Can't get to contacts

My Skype app was sending me to the page for voice calls and pay calls. Somehow I got it to work but don't remember how. I tried to help my Mom with the app on her Kindle and the same thing happens. It signs her in but there is no option to go to her contacts for video. and of course there is no one to call for support.

FWIW, Skype is working the same as usual for me right now.
Sorry I can't be much more help with your mom's device.

If Skype hired enough humans to answer the calls they would get then Skype would not be free.
