Hey all, after much lurking I finally decided to take the plunge and post! First of all I want to thank all of your regular posters on here so much!!! After much digging around I was able to settle on a JA 1.51ct Asscher that prodiamonds and niceice absolutely loved.

Now I need help with the setting....

So thanks to all of you I narrowed my options down to VC or SK the setting I prefer would be with pave and no halo and something that really helps the Asscher stand out so I came down to the following two settings:

VC
The Gabriella Four Prong Solitaire
SKU 8649-367-411 - Hand Forged in Platinum

SK
Style: R0207
Material: Platinum

I'm really crazy about both especially the SK just not sure which would suit the Asscher best... so I humbly come before for you for your feedback. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!!

I'd probably go with the VC, I know I have a VC bias because I think he is a wonderful guy to work with but in this case I think that the SK setting you have picked looks better with a larger stone. If you do for whatever reason, decide to go with SK I would pick a different setting, or simplify that one so it doesn't swamp the centre stone.

Another vote for the VC setting! :wavey:

Another vote for VC. I love the setting you've picked!

Thanks you all very much! Arkieb1 great tip I see your point now and agree, also I find it hard to picture a square cut in that SK setting. I'm going to keep looking though as I have till Friday to make the decision.

I'm staring to look at the Alaria because I really like its delicate prongs.

I would also choose Victor, but I would not recommend diamonds on the sides of the shank. It will rub the wedding band and scratch it up. You'd have to wear a spacer band. So whatever you choose, if you have stones on the shank, put them on the top only.

I like double claw prongs on asscher corners, sort of like this (but no pave on the sides...shank can be any way you want).

Victor's work is more fluid and beautiful in real life than his pics, hard to explain unless you have seen a few of his rings in person. Why don't you email him and ask for suggestions he has a great eye.

I am coming from a different design planet, but hopefully all ideas will help. I think the settings you are looking at are beautiful, but I like the idea of something in the design of a setting for an Asscher that relates to the squareness & simple cut of the stone. Perhaps sides that transition between Asscher and pave.
My two cents and hope it's not offensive. Whatever you love will be perfect for you.

Thanks diamondseeker2006 I do like those prongs as well. Great suggestion Jimmianne but I kind of like the contrast from pave to Asscher. I'm emailing them asap for a suggestion arkieb1!
