sizing a platinum band

Quick question... How is a plain platinum band sized down 1/4 to 1/2 size (ie 7 to 6.75)? Does it have to be cut? Can it be compressed? Will it alter the shape? Will it change the integrety of the band?

Ok lots of quick questions, but thanks in advance...

It will need to be cut. If done properly, you will never be able to tell it was sized nor will it change the integrity of the band. Just make sure the bench person is skilled in working with platinum.

Thanks for the reply... I wonder why I thought you could just compress a ring for such a small change... Is that even possible?
