Do diamonds usually look larger when they are loose or set? Also, what does it mean for a diamond to have a higher table? Does it make the diamond look larger?

Diamonds look larger when they are set... The outside diameter of the stone has more to do with a stone facing up larger than table size... A larger table just looks like a larger table... Assuming that you are contemplating the purchase of a round brilliant cut diamond, we recommend that you keep the total depth between 59 - 61.8% to prevent paying for weight that you will not visually benefit from... As the total depth of the stone increases, the outside diameter decreases, so the shallower the total depth, the more of the diamond you will see...
