My fiance proposed to me a few weeks ago, but now that we FINALLY got the ring in the mail and to a jeweler, we realized that the ring they sent was the incorrect size (it was an online retailer, not a real jeweler), and even if it was the correct size... I was sized incorrectly. I was sized a few years back as a size 4.5, but tonight I was sized at Helzberg''s Diamonds and I was told I was a size 4.

The jeweler said that even if they sent me the size 5 ring, it would be risky to go down a whole size.

So, now very distraught, angry and upset... I was hunting google for help and stumbled upon this forum. I would really appreciate it if anybody would be able to help me.

This is the ring, and I was wondering in the event that if the retailer he bought the ring from can do nothing more than offer a full refund, could any of you direct me to a jeweler who has a ring similar to this in a size 4 for a decent price?

This is the URL for the image... it seems I can''t direct-link images here:

Actually, I was even interested in a larger center stone than that, since the whole ring is only 1/2 ct in diamonds. My fiance and I live in a very poor town, but I don''t want an extremely large rock because it would get in the way of my typing (programmer).

Thank you very much.

How about this setting from Blue Nile? It says it''s available in sizes 5-9, but it could be worth a call to BN to see if it could be made in a 4.

Alternatively, you could put sizing beads in your ring if you''d rather keep it. But it seems like you''d rather return it and buy one with a larger center stone.

The only way it will get in the way of your typing is if you can''t take your eyes off it sparkling at you!!
