Single Stone Trunk Show Adventures!

A friend of mine is on the hunt for a stunner of an upgrade, so when we learned that the local Single Stone jeweler was hosting a trunk show this weekend, we jumped at the chance to try stuff on. She found two amazing contenders, though her "one" is likely sold. It's possible she might try to source a stone herself, or have them source one and have the setting crafted to match.

While she was combing the desert, I was trying on all sorts of goodies. I have been obsessed with their french cut bands, and while that's likely not in the cards for me anytime soon, I was certainly not going to pass up the opportunity to try it all on.

I LOVED both of these. I'd seen the first one online before, on their instagram, and I LOVED it. It is a J VS1 and I just thought the stone was amazing in person. SO beautiful.

I do not recall the specs on the latter.

This was an M VS2 I believe, I know it was an M. It was a very warm M. The setting was just to die for. Very much reminded me of Sebastien Barier.

We had a fantastic time, it was at YLANG YLANG in Ladue (St. Louis.) We basically got to try everything on, take any photos we wanted. I have lots of great photos of the rings she tried on, but I am not going to spoil anything until she has a final decision, etc.

Most likely a narrower version of probably the channel set french cuts. I would want something at or just under 2mm and none of these were that narrow. If I had a wider shank Id have been between one of the french cut channel sets and the bezel set channel set ones in a width that matched my shank. I am very much a "the widths have to match."

But if money was truly no object? One of those step cut babies.

If the prices were not so out of budget (and if I would actually wear them enough to justify them), I might have. But I'd want something not to exceed 2mm, and that's not really in their catalog.

I also would love to have a french cut diamond eternity band some day, but the prices are way out of my league.

Yea, the prices on the ones I love (of course) are like... I choked. The two channel set frenchies (the one with the rounds and the regular just frenchies) were I believe $5600 and $5800. I have the prices in photos in my dropbox. I just remember thinking "this is not happening in my lifetime."

I am DYING over that channel set band with french cuts. DYING. Of course, the price is way out of my reach. Will have to do some research on who might be able to craft one and source small french cuts.
