Hi Everyone!

I need some people with far more experience with settings to chime in. I have my ten year wedding anniversary coming up in April and I'm starting the process of looking for a 5 stone ring. Thanks to y'all I know the sizes I'm looking for :mrgreen2:

I adore the exaggerated scalloped edge look. I'm hoping to get 5 40 pointers or 5 30 pointers for either a 1.5 or 2 tcw. I haven't seen that total carat size range in my local stores. Will I still see that profile I want in a shared double prong or should I stick to single? I'm attaching a picture of the profile I want (but I'm certain this is an eternity and probably way more than I can afford carat-wise...)

I like the shared prong. The prongs closer to the center of the ring will make the stones looked more scalloped.

Yes, the shared prong can be for 5 stones or any number of stones. I would not like a single prong 5 stone ring, personally.

When you have it made make sure you show/send them the photo and ask that the shared prongs be more towards the center. Tell them that
you really want to see the scalloped shape of the stones. ( I prefer double.)

You can see my ring in my avatar and see that my prongs are more towards the outside (my stones are only 20ptrs so smaller than what you're going
for). I have less of a scalloped look.

So...like I was saying...TELL THEM what you want :P2!

Definitely the shared prong style to give you the look in the image above. Just let the vendor know your preferences on the prongs or even provide an image. Images are normally the best way to translate your vision:) Another thing to consider would be the profile of the ring. Do you want an open gallery style or more of a solid seat?

With the 5 stone style, you can also taper the band down around the finger to make it a little more sleek. Do you plan on wearing the 5 stone by itself or paired with your current set?

Just to provide you with a few examples of the profiles mentioned above, I found these Stuller styles just to show you the differences:
#1 - An example of the open gallery profile is as follow:

#2 - An example of the solid seat I referred to: https://www.stuller.com/products/4421/?groupId=19865&recommendationSource=SiteSearch

Congrats on your upcoming Anniversary!!

Thanks Pinto, DiamondSeeker, and Tyty! I'm glad I can go for the double prong shared- I was getting seriously concerned about the probable price of the memoire single prong in that size...:$$): Focusing on the double prong shared really opens up the number of vendors I could get quotes from.

Katie, I hadn't even thought about tapering the band. That's a fabulous idea! And I'm leaning towards the solid seat now. It's going to take the place of my wedding set which is really high set, so I'm trying to go super low with this ring.

And thank you! It's kind of hard to believe it's been 10 years, haha. Hopefully I can still say the same thing at 20 years;)2
