Anyone have a clue how much a setting like this would go for? I requested a price, but it''s taking them a long time and I want to get a ballpark figure. TIA if anyone can help!

Oh gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh!! VSlover -- As a PS sister, I must warn you ... please beware of these people. When I was pricing out my Simon G setting, they quoted me a ridiculous $4,400 - a ridiculous $1,900 higher than any other quote ... Additionally, they called me and kept me on the phone for an extended period of time. I felt dirty afterwards.

Whatever they quote you, I have NO doubt that this "jeweler" will be on the high end.
If you go to the Simon G website ... Click here and look for their dealer locator. That should help you find a Simon G vendor in your area that will likely give you a much more reasonable or "accurate" price.

Also, I purchased my setting from a local jeweler who was able to get my setting in at 25% less than the other quotes I''d been given at various other B&M''s. If your are interested, I can give you their info and they should be able to help you as well.

Actually -- I just found it on the Simon G website ... You will need this info if you are shopping around for pricing ... The style# is showing as MR 1451.

The website price is showing as $4,750! I''m sure you can likely find it for less.
Here is a link to the site pic & details!

It is a lovely setting!

ditto on what spark said about that jeweler. I email about 10-15 vendors about a simon g solitaire setting. That jeweler called me and kept asking me about loose diamonds. I repeatedly asked for the mounting price and he said he would send it to me w/ a list of loose stones. The next day, I had an email w/ diamonds, but still no quote for the mounting. I replied to him and asked again for the mounting (both if I bought one of his stones, and if I did not). I still have not heard back from him and its been over a week.

Also. contact as many vendors from the simon g site as possible. On a simple platinum solitaire setting that has a "suggested retail price" of $1700, I received quotes with over $700 in price differentials!!!

Mintve - I''m sorry that you had to deal with that. It was horrible. They are ALL about the hard sell. They justifed the inordinately high setting price by saying they have been in business for 545 years or something ridiculous like that so even though the "setting" price is fixed, they can get you a fantastic deal on the diamond b/c yada yada yada.

I just had to bathe after getting off the phone with that greasy salesman. Actually funny story, my bf had called me to warn me that he had just rec''d a call from them and they were talking non-stop but not answering the setting price question so I shouldn''t answer if they call me. Before he could get it out, I had another call and told him I would call him back ... It was THEM and I was subjected to the same thing. I must have asked about the setting price 4 or 5 different ways and repeated times and finally, finally I got a price out of him. Somehow we ended up on their email distribution list and now whenever I see them in my inbox I cringe. It was awful. Stay away or, if you must, at least bring a stake or some garlic or a crucifix or something to ward them off.

Horrible!

vslover -- I hope that the info I provide above helped you out. Please do keep us updated if you are going forward with that setting... I love, love, love it and have seen it in person and think it is absolutely FAB!

I have purchased several Simon G pieces from wherethediamondsare.com, which is Charleston Alexander Jewelers based out of Maryland. They were by far the cheapest, although I did notice that they had a price increase the end of last year.

I saw that one at Robbins Bros and I am sure it was not $4,750! I''ve looked at so many rings it''s hard to keep track, but I coulda sworn it was WAY less than that.
