I''m no expert, just learning, but all the pavilion angles and depth angles etc fall into the ideal ranges... It scored a .09 on the Holloway cut advisor (0 is perfect, so that score is awesome!) and was excellent for fire, light return, and scintillation, very good on spread, meaning your stone will face up a tad small for its carat weight (I think). That combined with the polish and symmetry not being excellent may be why it comes out "very good" by GIA? To my relatively-new-at-this eye it looks like a good buy! Plus you thought it was BEAUTIFUL!! That is the most important point of all!!
You have made a lovely choice. The ring is magnificent. Taking into consideration the size of her finger, I would not make the center stone larger. You know the saying, one more sequence would be too much. I Love Simon G. In fact, my ring is a Simon G design. I love the way he incorporates the different color golds and colored diamonds into his designs. I would not change a thing. The YG is what sets this apart from the average ring of this design. I wouldn''t change a thing. YOu have made a wonderful choice.
the numbers look good for your stone. and med fluor? yummy!!
what your jeweler told you is true. the fluor will make your H stone face up whiter than a H.
fluorescence in a near colorless stone will actually make it look more like a colorless stone. so it can even make the stone slightly more expensive than a H stone without fluor.
i know i''ll be looking for a stone with fluor when i''m ready for my upgrade. i didn''t get a chance to check the price for your stone, but it seems to be a good deal.
Simon G does nice work and their designs are lovely! Bonus on the medium blue fluorescence, it definetly whitens up the stone! "Hazy or Oily" appearances caused by fluorescence are not as common as some might think. And the numbers read well. No need to second guess yourself, you did great! Congrats!
