Hi,
I have been enjoying the threads here on this forum along with the experienced feedback from various active people.
On behalf of everyone, thanks for sharing your knowledge and precious time.

I am looking for a nice anniversary diamond ring, my wife liked the design of the one attached.
This is selling for 1.5k with tax but its 0.5 carat I2 center diamond.
I know I should not expect much for this price range but is it possible to get a similar setting with a better diamond for less than 2k?

I have seen some other threads that recommended jamesallen.com

I would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks

What do you mean by "anniversary diamond ring"? This (IMO) is an engagement ring. Is she going to wear this as her
engagement ring or is she going to wear it as a RHR? To me an "anniversary ring" would be more like a band. However,
we want you to get what you want.

I dont think you will find another gallery view like that one but here are ones that have similar shanks...

them to milgrain the shank

Edit - I see that I posted the same 2 that telephone posted but I went ahead and posted anyway.

The other idea is to talk to ID jewelry. They work very well in tight budgets.

They carry a line that has similar rings but they are more expensive...

Do you like either of these? I will look around and see if there any diamonds that might work.

Thanks
These are almost similar but still if there is some difference if you look at the 2nd pics, what do you call this design?

Thanks these look great too, but they are relatively expensive.

Do you think 1K is a fair price for the setting of the ring I posted?

I think it might be a fair price, but I also think you might be disappointed with the final ring. There's a good possibility that a .2ct I2 center stone won't have much sparkle. An I2 clarity grade from an unknown lab could indicate that the stone has clouds or spots that are visible with the naked eye, and that could interfere with the sparkle. Then again, it could be OK. Just be sure to check the return policy carefully, and don't buy it unless you're prepared and able to return it if it doesn't live up to your expectations.

The band on that ring would be considered a pave twist or infinity style band. The under the shoulder work could be described as a scroll or filigree design (though technically it's not filigree).

Would your wife consider a band without a center stone? You'd be able to get larger pave stones that would have more sparkle factor than the small stones in the band you're looking at.

Thanks but the ring in the pic has a 5/8 CT TW and the center stone is 0.5 CT all are I color and I2 clarity. I am asking if 1K is fair because if I can get it at that price the diamond will be almost free.

Do you want cheap or do you want sparkle? $1K might be reasonable but what's the point if it doesn't sparkle? What is the colour and clarity grading of the melee diamonds?

Sorry about mis-reading the size of the center stone. Don't know where my head was at. If the center stone is indeed .5 ct, then the rest of the diamonds - I estimate there will be about 60 total - are going to be about a half point each (.005 ct), which is very tiny and, if they're also I2 clarity, probably indicates that they'll have little or no sparkle.

Is it worth $1,000? Really we can't tell you one way or the other. I don't mean for this to sound snobbish, but we rarely look at settings with I2 diamonds because most of the people who come here are looking for diamonds and rings that sparkle - and I2 diamonds, graded by an unknown lab, are not likely to sparkle. But you like this ring - so I'll repeat what I suggested above: make sure you check the return policy carefully, and don't buy the ring unless you're prepared and able to return it if it doesn't live up to your expectations.

Buying jewelry is no different than buying anything else - you get what you pay for.

The reason why I asked if its a reasonable price for the setting is that I was thinking that I can replace the center diamond with a good one. Is that doable?

This one is below the price of the one you are considering:

https://eshop.gabrielny.com/product/ER9522W44JJ

You could then pay for a nice diamond to go into it and it may end up cheaper than the work that would be required with the other one.

My guess would be that the melees in the setting are also of low colour and clarity and would not be sparkly, given how little thought and care they put into the centre diamond.
