Not sure if this is where this belongs, so if I'm in the wrong zone, feel free to move me!
I recently decided to go through my grandma's jewelry and found an interesting piece that looked to be horribly tarnished silver. It was in the shape of a leaf and had an odd, sort of hollow, sound to it.
I asked my mom about it today, and she said that it was handmade by one of my grandma's teachers (she was a principal) back in the 1970s. We think that it's a leaf dipped in silver, but we're not entirely sure.
I cleaned it up tonight and it's gorgeous! I wish I had some before shots because it looked ROUGH. The detail of the veins is so real!
Does anyone have any information about this type of piece or how it would have been made? Thanks all!
