sidestones and mm size for .31-.32ct

ok so I was all set to purchase my 2 side stones .31-.32ct g/h si for my .89ct round to set in a 3 stone Lucida. I was told color clarity only mattered. Then someone told me to stay away from a heavy 4mm stone what does that mean? Is there a good mm size I should stay with? thanks I need help I really want this ring set by xmas!!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS

I would stay in the 4.3-4.4 mm neighborhood. 4.0 mm is in the 0.25 carat range, visually. Bit of a deep stone.
