Red garnet cushion

thanks all :) I need to let him know soon

This is the ring you made for her.JPG

Diamonds. The contrast would be better than trying to get everything to match.

Yup, I''d do diamonds for the contrast. The rubies might upstage the garnet because rubies are able to hold their colour. Not only that, it might be difficult to find matching sidestones that are still complementary to the garnet. You don''t want the ring to look like a red blob from far away.

Diamonds! That will look lovely!

Thanks for the votes so far. I love pink diamonds and pink sapphires in rose gold but I know pink wouldnt work with the red stone so I thought maybe ruby..but I see your point about a big red blob lol. Micheal E will be making it.

Agree with the diamond contrast. Stones in a similar color, but different variety might look a bit weird?

I agree, diamonds as well. Will be a very pretty ring!

Er, I hit ruby by accident. I meant diamonds (or white sapphire or something).

Otherwise you get a christmas effect, among other things!

Another vote for diamonds - they will make the garnet stand out, and the whole design a bit more classic.

Diamonds will give it a classic look. Too much RED!!! with adding the rubies. HTH

Diamonds!!! It will be a beautiful ring.

I''d go diamonds. Diamonds would set off the garnet beautifully, and would give you maximum versatility.

If want another colored stone for some reason (maybe you''re concerned that red and white is too holiday-ish?) then you might consider stones in a color other than red.
