side stone advice

I have finally decided on a princess center stone 2.42c f-si1...my future fiance likes side stones and took the advice of the jeweler

rincess on each side .60.My Q is: will it overpower the center and look a just one blob of sparkle?

Anyway, it would be easy to play with the proportions of the three stones and see what fits your expectations better. The "design your own ring" application at www.adiamondisforever.com does just that...

The question of whether to have side stones is a hard one. While I don't think the size of the side stones that accompany your center diamond will overpower it, it will take away attention from the center stone. Some people prefer the look of the "blob of sparkle", some don't. Because I can't make up my mind about side stones, I've decided that, should I want side stones, I will get a wrap. That way I can wear the ring as a solitaire, or have a ring with the side stones. One thing that may determine whether it's too much to have the side stones is the size of your finger and the diameter of the various stones. What is your ring size? What are the diameters of your center and side stones?

The numbers below each picture give the proportions betwenn the center stone and the sides.

Not knowing exactly the measurements of your stones, I would guess they woudl be between 1.5 and 1.6 to 1 (close to the first model).

the proportions of those pics are quite 'approximate' - but with the picture at hand one can deduce what the correct relation is, and forget sellecting the band, those are quite funny

just good to make an argument that diamonds are never BIG enough

Thank u all for your input!!!well...I do not have any more specs on the stones since it is supposed to be a "surprise" but the pics really help,i just can't wait...he better hurry up!
