Ok i have a question. I have a 1.01 oval and was thinking of putting some side accents diamonds. I went to a jeweler and they told me if i was to get trillion cut diamonds on each side of the center stone I need .56 tw.
Does this sound right. I''m unsure about this stuff. What do you all think? I dont want it to be totally overdone.

Can they show different pairs of sides to you so you can choose a lay out for the ring?

It is just as hard to tell exactly how big a 0.25 carat trillaint is as is to tell how big a 1.01 oval. Both shapes allow a wide range of cut parameters and that's what will ultimately determine how they look and how big they are (in milimeters, not grams

Hi,

It sounds like a nice total weight range to me.

Did they show these to you?

It would work with smaller total weights as well, it is a personal preference issue.

I've attached a visual reference for you, it is a 1.00 carat princess center with .50 carat tw triangle diamonds.

Hope this helps.

hope this gives an idea... However, I would not go for relatively small sides (picture #2) since those woud be way to small in absolute terms (below 0.2carat each here) and very small trillions are not often well cut - glassy chips are more likely. Between pics #1 and #3, the depth of those trills could well make the difference, and their total weight would go between 0.4 and 0.55cts. (Btw. in the picture, the weight is for the pair of trillions... too late to correct that now).

Wow! I see what you guys are saying! Thanks so much for your pictures to help me understand. I get it now! At their store they didnt have any to show me, I was looking at one of their books. And the lady measured my center diamond and then told me what would look best compared to that.
