WINK, YOU ARE RIGHT ON TARGET.

One must assess the effect of clarity faults and blemishes on a stone by stone basis to know which one suits them best. The same applies to a final determination of which diamond from a selection is prettiest. It is not a matter of cold science, or measuring of parameters, but a matter of personal taste combined with a degree of appreciation for the object being studied, the diamond.

A gemological report, the cert, is an important tool for screening which stones you may believe you''ll want to go over more closely. It is not truly the best way to pick the right diamond for you unless you simply cannot examine any of them in person. In person is the best way to judge any beauty contest. Although we all want the best possible value, the end purchase must be the one we like the best because of many mixed factors, the ultimate one is supposed to be its beauty.

The diamond industry has certainly changed with regard to better and more technical information available to the consumer.

Our industry is not unlike the automobile industry where you can go on line and "create" your perfect car with every available
option and color. The "ideal" luxury car vs. the "ideal" cut diamond.

There will always be highly educated shoppers and folks who just want to get the best price with little regard for quality
or options.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
