Hi folks,
I purchase a diamond (with a return policy) graded SI1 by GIA with a knot and feather (with this order).
The diamond has nice proportions, cut is excellent as well as polish. Light performance is also nice.
When looking with a 10x loupe the diamond is eye clean. The knot can be seen when examining from the right angle.Feather is small and not an issue.
When looking with 20x loupe, from below, it is hard to see the knot (it is white and not black) but then I could see that it it is like a narrow “rope” starting from inside in the pavilion and coming out exactly on the girdle (thin). Surface area of the knot is not the material part of this inclusion.
Two questions please:
1. Can this type of knot come out?
2. Can the knot come out slowly? Get crumbled?
3. If I place the claw of the ring exactly on the knot can it help to protect the diamond ?
Thanks
