I've got more pumpkins.. I'm gonna try to do some tomorrow.. I did this one at my brother's house.. they needed some jack-o-lanter's for the kiddos.

I'll take pics of the ones I do tomorrow.

Here's a profile of this one..

Holy cow curio! Awesome!

I love everyone''s pumpkins! Hmmm. Maybe I should surprise the hubby with some pumpkins to carve tomorrow!

Gosh! How on earth are you people so talented with pumpkins?! Lol I can barely carve the usual smiley face.

Wow, incredible curio ! I have actually often wondered as to your profession due to your choice of avatar - are you an artist?

Hahahaha, curio, those are HILARIOUS! I LOVE the teeth!

If you don't mind my asking, what tools do you use? How do they look lit up?

Awesome!

arjunajane,

I am a working artist! I specialize in ceramics and sculpture, which is the reason I always go completely insane with pumpkin carving.

I''m also about to graduate college next semester with a bachelors of fine arts and professional sequence in education, so I''ll be teaching high school in the fall :)

I love my avatar, she completely encompasses my inner being.

Aloros,

I mostly use my ceramic finishing tools and a few different X-acto knife blades. I also use a peeler to peel the skin off, and I have a serrated ice cream scoop I use to scoop out contents.

I''m probably still not done with this one; I may add some holes on the head.

Here it is lit up.. not a great shot since my camera sucks at night-time shots.. but you get the general idea.

Thanks again for the compliments guys!

Thats fantastic ! Have you ever posted threads with your "serious" work? I would love to see more - how fun to be able to do your art for a living, and congrats on the pending graduation !

I love your av too, she makes me laugh.

I''ve only posted some of my photography.. right now I''m in the process of building an online portfolio, but since I''m doing it myself it''s taking quite some time.. once I get it up I''ll make sure to post a link on PS. :)

curio
That is AWESOME! Love it!!!

curio,

Those are truly works of art! Wow.

Curio...That is truly a work of art..that must have taken time and patience..WOW..If I went trick or treating at your house, I would want to take home the

Thanks for the info, curio! Look at that crazy glowing mouth!

They seriously make me giggle.

Curio - those are awesome!!!

Curio, I''ve never seen anything like this before. Those are incredible!! I love the way it looks all lit up.

When I went to carve my pumpkin last night, I found that the whole bottom was rotten and moldy, so I had to cut the bottom 2-3 inches off. So, since a face was out of the question, I turned my pumpkin into a fairy house - complete with acorn fairy. I won $20 and second place in our work carving contest today!!!

talk about making lemonade! great save. you were very creative, i like it.

So, my pumpkins look so elementary compared to Curio''s works of art. BUT since they''re the first pumpkins I''ve ever carved as an adult I had to post them.

Here''s the before & after:

And here''s a shot of the best thing about carving pumpkins: roasted pumpkin seeds! (Since taking this picture I''ve eaten at least half of the bowl . . . )

We don''t carve pumpkins here not that I would attempt it for fear of my own safety but WOW those are amazing.

Curio your faces are way cool, it amazes me that can be done with a vegie. Is that some sparkle I noticed in the corner of one of them?

laurel and Haven-

Those pumpkins are adorable! We''ve got some pretty talented pumpkin carvers here at PS.
