My new to me transitional, Art Deco, all the filigree diamond & sapphire platinum ring :)

Like many of us, I was NOT looking but alas I could not pass this up. I was at a small custom, repair jeweler to get a few prongs on my yellow diamond fixed that I had caught and bent when I saw her tucked away in an estate case.

This had been taken in as trade on an modern stone engagement ring & they’d sat on it longer than they thought they would (no cert) so we’re willing to deal a bit. I louped her, tested with a diamond tester and saw the platinum used to size it up a half, so feel pretty good about it.

The filigree is in great shape, the sapphires match my current sapphire band. It’s a warmer stone, which I actually prefer and the big flashes of color in the sunlight just blow me away!

My engagement ring and wedding band. It’s Art Deco with a transitional cut diamond. I’m guessing 1930s or 40s. The wedding band is new and its pattern was made with master models from the early 1900s.

Here's mine! The ring is from my mother in law's, it was her great aunt's. White gold, 1937, just under a carat. The wedding rings are vintage repros, I had such a hard time finding anything vintage to match as a wedding band. 20191230_203406.jpg 20191230_203426.jpg

I love this :kiss2: It’s similar to my first engagement ring. I would guess it’s from the 30’s

I thought it would be fun to start a thread with a compilation of everyone's Antique/Vintage and Reproduction Rings. I'll start by posting some from older threads. I hope the owners do not mind.

My new (to me) 17 carat jumbo cocktail ring :D It is a whopper of a ring at 1.85 inch x 1.45 inch. But a perfect cocktail ring, and surprisingly, looks pretty fine even on my small hands. Diamonds are F-G, VS1-SI2, pear, marquise, and baguette. 18K white gold. An estate find. ring1.jpg ring2.jpg

Antique ladies platinum diamond ring. trillion center stone. 30 antique square cut step diamond. Was given to my grandmother upon the birth of her son in 1927. The appraiser gave the age of the stones as 100.

My mother recently gave this ring to me and I promptly got an appraisal and of course a cleaning. The center stone has chips on all sides (which I can't see) and one of the square cut diamonds (the smallest) is broken ( which I also can't see).

The ring will get passed down in many years to my 10 month old granddaughter.

I am in love with it and wish I knew more of its history.

Grades are side diamonds - SI 11 color G-H center - SI12 - color JK

Sides equal approx 1.2 carets
Center 2.4
Total weight is approx 11.9 grams

I know my reply is years later...but this ring is FANTASTIC. It reminds me of the rings that the Hollywood starlets of the 20's, 30's and 40's wore. What a remarkable piece to pass down to your darling granddaughter. Your granddaughter would then have her Great Great Grandmother's ring. I wear as my RHR, my great great grandfather's pinky ring. He was a bit of a mobster type fellow and its pretty in yellow gold with a nice sized diamond. It was passed down to every eldest child (all of whom were male) until me. I am the first female to own it. I will also pass it on to my grandchild. I recently found a photo of my grandfather from WWII. He was home on R&R and when I look closely I can see the ring on his hand. He was its third owner, I am its fifth - just like your sweet granddaughter will be. There is nothing more special to me (jewelry wise) than my engagement ring, my mother's simple wedding band and my Gr Gr Grandfather's ring. I know that your future generations will hold it just as precious as you do.

Ruby surrounded by really rough cut natural diamonds, which are set in silver, the rest of the ring is in18k. My dad bought this for my mom in 1981 in northern Italy. Unfortunately, it’s missing one of the diamonds. I’m considering having it reset, but am hesitant.

Maybe just replace the diamonds? Its a gorgeous ring!

Is that sapphire cut like an OEC? It does have fire!

The center round is a very late oec, transitional Cut diamond. The channel set sapphires are little square cuts. Those are the sapphires I was mentioning. The sapphires in the band and tiny modern rounds.

Ok I get it now! I was confused because the diamond had a bit of a blue tint in the photo. It’s gorgeous!

My .49ct OEC in a navette style ring from TRR. I had originally planned to use the diamond for a project, but I think it belongs in this piece and I’m going to leave it as is. My hands are a wreck from our cold winter, so I used props for the pictures instead :)).

Wearing my rose gold, double snake ring today. The diamond is a .3 OMC likely an R color. The sapphire is a wee bit large and an oval, single cuts for the 4 eyes. Jeweler thinks it’s original and English, but was likely re shanked at some point when it lost any hallmarks it had :(

My no heat antique around 5 ct sapphire and diamond ring and my platinum pink sapphire and diamond ring. The second one had a nasty chipped dark sapphire and I replaced it with this pastel spring beauty.

This is my original engagement ring I haven’t posted it since 2012 so I figured I would show it again.

It faces up white but the gold band is reflecting making it look yellow

My husband purchased this Edwardian-era ring as a gift for our 11th anniversary. It's 14k with a platinum top, and the gemstone is (theoretically) a .15 ct alexandrite. No certification, so who knows?
It does change colour from daylight to incandescent light (green to purplish-pink), though it's hard to capture it on camera. I fell in love with the setting, as well as the stone. So much fine detail, even though it has worn a bit over its lifetime.

I made a poster earlier about a ring we had in the family for years in a jewellery box that was given to my mother years back. My mothers gave me permission to have it and maybe lower the setting for myself, but dont think I can to be honest, dont think I want to mess about with it .

Hello all,

I need some help from you experts.
I purchased a preloved 5 stone 1.28ct uncertified ring with 14k stamp.
Seller said it was a brilliant cut and IJ color but from the blurry pics i saw they were a bit yellow. I thought the price was good so i went to see the ring.
When i looped the diamonds to my surprise they were OEC's, 3 yellow ones(looks like to have the same color as my M color OEC) with a tiney culet and the table weren't as high as you would expect from OEC's.
Two whiter ones, one had a big culet and the middle one was a bit bigger than the rest but I have no idea what cut that would be?
You can see it in pic 3.
Sorry for the crappy pictures but it's very hard to capture them.
Can you have a look?

Thank you 62CC8188-0AE7-433E-AC3C-192F702CDBBB.jpeg 3E95FC85-BEF8-4206-A768-AC81614FD9AC.jpeg B2A580D2-150A-4925-B283-0E09B59F5056.jpeg B8E16D79-E471-4AB1-8934-9435BA37C0E4.jpeg

Greetings, all. :) I've been lurking for years but never had any jewelry of note to share. I am so happy to finally own a few pieces of fine jewelry! I gradually amassed a modest collection, through purchases and through inheriting my mother's jewelry collection.

Here are my vintage emerald rings, both purchased by my husband. (Please forgive my embarrassingly bad photography!) The daisy style is my profile photo. It dates to approximately 1890, and has French markings for gold and platinum on the outside center band. The markings are tiny and REALLY hard to photograph with my camera phone, but if anyone wishes to see them, I can find the seller's close-ups and post them.
Vintage_Emerald_Ring_CloseUp.jpg
The diamonds are Old European Cut (according to seller), and are 3.30 carats. The emerald is 1.76 carats. The shank is 18kt yellow gold, the head (I think I'm using the right term) is platinum. The prongs holding the emerald in place are 18kt yellow gold.

The second ring is, I think, circa the 1980s, but I'm not entirely sure; just a guess based on the style and condition - for all I know, it could date from the 1960s. The ring is 14kt white gold. The diamonds are not very good, very cloudy and not very sparkly, but I love the emerald. It isn't the nicest but it has a lovely blue-green glow that photographs don't capture. The emerald is around 2 carats and I think the diamonds are around 1.5 carats, but I can't remember.
Vintage_Emerald_Rings_Side.jpg
I have a few more that I'll post. The next round all belonged to my mother.
