This is Jess in one of the first pics I took when I got her back in September 2007.

She is 21yo now and is still going strong.



She tolerated my last dog and continues to tolerate my new dog.

I believe the new dog brings out the kitten in her and it is a joy to see them interact and kind of play-chase around the house.

Never a huggy cat with the dogs, and did not and still does not like to share the same side of the double bed with the dog, which means I have to sleep diagonally with the dog on one side near the pillow and the cat on the other near my feet.
However, she is the boss in the house and I am her servant and long may that continue.

Last year, she underwent a general anaesthetic to have some teeth removed, and checks were performed first to make sure she would be able to tolerate a GA at her age, and she recovered and bounced back to her normal self in no time.

To date, that was the only significant health issue that she had, and is now on regular pain medication for her joints. Otherwise she is in a great shape and health for a 21yo cat!

She used to jumped onto the counter/worktop to eat from her bowl placed on the window sill. However, she does not jump that high anymore and eats from a bowl from the kitchen floor. I have to make sure the dog does not get to her food when she is eating!

Very vocal and demanding when she wants something, and eats small portions regularly nowadays, much to the dog's enjoyment as he gets to eat her leftovers. Otherwise, very loving and likes cuddles as and when she feels like it.

I am acutely aware that I am on borrowed time with her, and everyday is special.

Don't know why, however, when I saw that, I just knew she was the cat for me!

I drove a round trip of over 200miles to meet her at her then home.

When I got there, her then owner informed me that she was a very shy cat. She came into the kitchen where we were, and went back out into the garden.

I followed her into the garden, and she jumped onto the garden table, rolled over and invited me to pet her. It was not a trap and she actually let me give her a belly rub, much to the astonishment of her owner and her family who were watching us via the kitchen window. I knew then she wanted me to be her next mum.

I drove back to collect her about 2 weeks later. She was rehomed as her then owner had medical issues and could not look after her.

This is Miso.
He is 15, but still likes to play and race around the house.
He is spicy, so don't touch his back legs unless you want to lose a finger.

Oh, I think this sums it up very much. Both of my cats are Balinese. Archie, the red point is a bit of a bully. He reminds me of one of those annoying high school footballers that are . He chases his sister Gigi from everything.
And out of the blue occasionally attacks, her. They are fixed. I don’t why he is like he is. She is small and she is sweet and she is mighty feisty so as he enters the room, she starts growling. She does not suffer fools.
We had to get an airhorn for crowd control when he gets in one of his moods.
They occasionally will lick each other‘s face it as a greeting so I guess it’s OK but they’re not the most bonded. They’re around two years old.

@Ibrakeforpossums my breeder says it’s the exuberance of youth . Hoping they calm down. When Archie starts his stare at Gigi (trouble maker mode) I just reach for the airhorn and he runs.

Our very adventurous cat, he likes sticking his nose in places. But such an intriguing little fellow, he has a thing for toasted marshmallows. What I mean by thing, he will plow through my daughter to eat her marshmallow after being toasted

He was a kitten that was living in a colony in an apartment complex that was one of something like 20 cats. We used to foster and he was a foster failure. He loved to groom all the baby kittens that came through our house when we fostered.

They are very regal!

This is Leisel. She's a bit skittish, she doesn't meow but makes chirps and meeps, is affectionate on her terms only and at times gives off a vibe that she thinks everything and everyone around her is gross. If you think she is judgmental, she absolutely is. Ske was a foster failure. She weighed about 8 ounces when I got her and I pulled her off the euthanasia table at the shelter with her litter.

From what I understand of the breed standard, her face to ear ratio is definitely not as perfect as her very handsome (but a bit dim) brother. We love her radio telescope ears tho!
Thankfully she doesn’t have the Hapsburg chin
