Show of hands...who is "au naturel"?

Mostly natural. I put a brown rinse in my hair to cover some growing-out highlights I had put in a while back. It was one of those 28 day rinses, but it shows absolutely no sign of coming out. Oh well....

Like someone else mentioned, I did fake nails twice, the last time was 12 years ago--drove me nuts! Makeup, when I do wear it is mascara and eyeliner. My eyelashes have lightened as I've gotten older, and they are there, but you can't see them!

I'm in Colorado, and the look here is athletic/natural/manic-organic-pseudohippie although I've seen a few more inflated boobs lately...

I live in the plastic surgery capital of America - Dallas has the highest number of plastic surgeons per capita, and with all of the bad boob jobs I see around, I'm sure the vast majority of them are "budget" plastic surgeons. :nono:

I've ventured into hair colour, but the maintenance was too much (but, my goodness I loved when my hair was a dark auburn) so I'm trying to match my original colour so I can go grey gracefully. I'm down to just doing the ends every 4 months now. Should have just chopped it all off, but it took so long to get here. I did wear acrylics but have recently moved onto gels. We'll see how long this lasts this time. Make-up is generally just a dusting of mineral powder, mascara, and chapstick. Occasionally gloss if I feel fancy. The rest of my body, very obvious flaws and all, are all mine.

I am pretty natural. I do wear makeup and I must blowdry my hair to look decent. My hair color is naturally platinum blonde and people ask me all the time if it's real and I am blessed with my mother's and grandmother's strong, long beautiful nails. I've never worn fake nails and think they are trashy, especially the square ones. My boobs are real and I've never had any lipo or other cosmetic surgery, but I would if I could afford it!

I admire well put together people, who can look great without crossing the line into the "too much effort" look. However, I am lazy so I go au naturel as much as possible. No hair chemestry, no makeup (except a dash of lipstick and eyeliner for job interviews and weddings), no tan, bare nails with some very nice file marks on the left hand thumb, etc.

There are men who appreciate women with simple beauty routines. I know several, in fact :naughty:

I am. No hair color, no extensions, my nails aren't acrylic. I wear only a little bit of makeup (usually just tinted moisturizer, chapstick and mascera). No plastic surgery, no botox, no fake tan.

I'm no supermodel, I just prefer the natural look for me, and I happen to like my natural hair color!

DITTO This :-)

Lauren- you are a beauty my dear. Didn't know that stat about Dallas, that is very interesting :)

I would say that I am half and half. I do color and perm my hair. I am not opposed to acrylic nails I just get tired of getting them fixed and filled in all the time so I dont have any now. I do not have fake eyelashes, but think they are gorgeous if the person who is wearing them knows what looks good and what doesnt. I do paint my nails. They are never unpainted. I wax and shave with the best of em. I wear makeup everyday. I am not a makeup to go the grocery store kind of gal, but if I am venturing any farther I have to do the whole thing. I use concealer and foundation, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara and blush. I do not have the overly made up thing going on and even my eyeliner is smudgy so nothing looks severe. I do have a fake tan and would like to have breasts. Since I cant will them to grow they would have to be fake also.

I dye my own hair my natural/original color (used to have it highlighted) to cover the onslot of grey, othre then that there's nothing unnatural about me.I leave my curly hair curly, I rarely wear makeup, I've never had surgery of any kind (but intend to have a breast reduction at some point). I like to get dressed up on occasion but for the most part I'm really casual in appearance.

Hair is mine, nails are mine, and I wear very minimal makeup (usually just a touch of eyeliner/mascara on an everyday basis). In high school I japanese-straightened my hair, but I realized it wasn't too healthy and it was wayyy too straight so I stopped. Now I just wear my hair naturally wavy/curly or I blowdry it straight.

When I get older I'll probably color my hair once I start getting grays. My mom said she started going gray at 25 so she had to start coloring her hair then.. so I guess in about 3 years I may have to start coloring my hair if I take after her :errrr:

K, lovely - I  you, too!

Coming from Las Vegas, I was intrigued to find out that stat when my sister started shopping surgeons for her upcoming maintenance work. *sigh*

Im pretty much au naturel. I dont dye my hair (though Im certainly not opposed to the idea when I begin seeing gray :Up_to_something: ), I dont wear fake nails, no plastic surgery, but I do wear a bit of makeup sometimes, and I also am not into body hair so i shave of course. So I guess that would be half and half?

I just pluck mine. I'm 24. There aren't enough to be a big deal, but enough so that I notice them. I've got dark hair and on the rare occasion that somebody notices them, I just call them natural highlights and then pluck it as soon as I get a chance!

I'm mostly au naturel, partly due to not wanting to look fake and partly from being lazy AND CHEAP! I can't believe how expensive it is to keep up with manicures and hair colorings and tannings... heck no. I get frustrated when I have to buy a new $6 bottle of mascara... I'd probably drop dead if I spent $100+ at a salon. I wear make-up and shave but that's as "fake" as I get. I've always let my hair air dry too but it's lost a lot of its natural curl lately so it's starting to look a bit like an unkempt child so I may need to start doing more in the mornings with that.

princesss--Your post reminded me of what my old makeup prof used to say to us in college: "Dearies, we pluck chickens, and we tweeze eyebrows." She also said "Darlings, we streak the quad, and we highlight hair." She was the best. (And yes, I had a makeup prof because I was a theatre major with a focus in costume design. It was the best major ever.)

I don't tweeze my gray hairs because they just grow back and then they go through that horrible growing out period where they stick straight up from my head. They are so much thicker and coarser than the rest of my hair. I have a gray streak right in the middle of my bangs, but I actually kind of like it. This is an obscure reference, but it reminds me of the mom from the Poltergeist movies and her awesome gray streak. In the movie she tells her daughter that she had it dyed into her hair on purpose.

I'm almost completely natural. I did have braces when I was younger and later had my wisdom teeth taken out. But no plastic surgery so far for me (though I'm not at all against it). I've never worn fake lashes or acrylic nails...no fake tans (either spray-on or fake-bake)...only colored my hair once just for fun. One of the few things I really love about my appearance is my natural hair color (as well as my eye color, so no colored contacts for me). On top of that, I only wear makeup on special occasions, but that's mainly because I'm too lazy to put it on in the morning.

I normally don't color my hair but I will be doing a henna coloring whenever I get the chance. I don't wear daily makeup, just when I go out with my friends. I don't have fake nails. I lost my tweezer and I refuse to buy another one til I've done an extensive search. I have done botox and plan to use it again soon (haven't done it in years).

I'm pretty much all natural. I have totally straight hair that I don't blow dry or curl or straighten or anything. I don't color it, either. It's brown and I like the color, despite a previous hairdresser who tried to get me to color it the 2 times I went to her! (I switched after that.) Then the next hairdresser I went to actually asked me if I colored my hair because it was a pretty color. (SO THERE hairdresser who tried to tell me I needed to color my hair! ) I do wear mascara and a little concealer and powder, but that's it as far as make up. Fake nails, fake tan, etc. aren't my style. I rarely even wear nail polish. And I've never had cosmetic surgery. I actually don't think I know anyone who has had cosmetic surgery.

All this may change when I get older and have greys to cover, etc.! But I'm so low maintenance (aka LAZY) that I couldn't keep up with much more than hair color and maybe a little more make up.

T2, that exact same thing happened to me! And I'm a dark blonde with natural highlights!

I don't dye my hair. Or get fake nails, lashes, extensions, etc etc etc. I'm also in the low maintenance/lazy category. I do wear a full face of makeup from time to time, but on a day to day basis, I barely bother with anything but chapstick.

I do, however, sometimes use the Jergens healthy glow or whatever it is tanning lotion on my legs. I run long distances, so my arms get pretty tan, but my legs stay pasty white, and sometimes (like for our engagement pictures this week!) I need to balance myself out so I don't look ridiculous.

You're a natural beauty, you gorgeous thing, you don't need anything fancy! Obvious flaws my foot!!

I would say 98% of the time I'm all natural (on my face). As a teen and early 20s I wore makeup all the time but mid 20s until now (am 42) I really don't wear makeup. If I'm going out then I put a little on but day to day, it's what God gave me. Maybe that's why I don't have crows feet? Who knows.

I do color my hair but that's about it.

I use haircolor and some makeup. Much less now than when I was younger. I got to liking my self with less makeup - at first it took getting used to!

I am so not into plastic surgery. Most everyone I know has had some, (including guys!). I know people on their second facelift, second eyelift, etc. I think it looks better, for a while, and then it's sagging again and as time goes by it looks unnatural. The risks of those things are way too much, IMO. I hope I don't need it for a long time, cause I am not going to do it!

I never had interest in manicures, pedicures etc, never saw the point.

I have ballroom dancing as a hobby and in that world, 95% of what you see is glued on, tacked down, injected, painted, augmented, cut up, sucked out or dyed. The end result, once the person gets older, is not pretty.

I do love a good lipgloss, eyebrow pencil. Those make a big difference on me.

I get highlights in my hair and wear make-up when I'm going on a night out but other than that, I'm natural. I'm too lazy to make a huge effort with stuff like that.
