Show of hands...who is "au naturel"?

Recently, I have been very sensitive to chemicals. 2 months ago, when I colored my hair, I had the most frightening reaction to the dye. I was short of breath, dizzy and felt nautious. Then my scalp near my neckline, got this oozing rash and it was so painful that I decided to look for a natural aleternative. I turned to Henna and I am happy that I did.

I wear little make-up: mostly lipgloss and occasionally Mascara.

And my nails? I am a nail technician yes, and I sort of have to portray what I am doing... I wear polish. But no gels nor acrylics.

I don't fake tan, no fake boobies, no hair/eyelash extensions either. It must be really costly to get all of this done.
I think I don't care enough to look better than what I already am achieving. Even if I spent more time, no one would notice either.
I live in a state ruled by natural people, so i'd stick out like a sore thumb.

Makeup- eyeliner, lash curler, lip gloss

Hair- naturally straight. i brush it maybe once a month. cut about twice a year.

body hair is the one thing i'm particular about... everything off!

no fake tan, boobs, butt, botox, lip injection, or anything else... which is rare in L.A.

I don't shave, but then I'm Asian. :naughty: I'm much too lazy to maintain faux nails as well. I also have never colored my hair. However, I'm starting to get enough white so that I can imagine succumbing to the dye in 5 years or so.

My first post on PS 2.0. I am mostly au naturel. I don't color my hair, never had a manicure or pedicure. I've never had Botox or any plastic surgery. I've never had my eyebrows plucked, tweezed, waxed or whatever it is women do, but I do remove body hair from the other normal places. I do wear some makeup, particularly concealer because my facial skin is quite blotchy.

Me. (Do you think all my work is beginning to show?)

I color the greys and wear makeup in the desperate attempt to get that natural look. I ain't apologizing for it. I will apologize for not shaving the thicket on my legs...I just haven't gotten around to finding the machete.

Like OUPG, I'm a priss. I love makeup and wear it daily. I have to wear foundation these days because I've developed pretty bad melasma in the last few years, and I feel very self-conscious about it. Before the melasma, I used to not wear foundation at all and just use concealer on blemishes--wish that were still the case. I hate having to choose between looking "made-up" or looking blotchy. Other than that, I usually just wear black eyeliner and some lip gloss to work; in the winter, I add blush. When I'm going out, though, I love to play with fun eye makeup, skin illuminator, lip stain, and the like.

I have naturally curly hair and hate it. I spend a fair amount of time blow drying and flat ironing it every day. I have natural highlights from the sun, but sometimes I like to augment those with salon highlights.

No fake nails, fake tans, fake body parts, fake hair, collagen injections, or Botox for me.

I wear make-up (eyeliner, some shadow, and powder). I don't think you can really tell that I'm wearing make-up though.

I color my hair. I like having a reddish tint (I'm Asian so I have super dark hair). No extensions but my hair has gotten so long lately. It's almost down to my waist.

No fake nails for me, no plastic surgery, no botox, nothing.

Tan, yes, but from being outside.

And I don't care if I'm Asian and I don't have a lot of hair on my legs - I shave!

I wear makeup about half of the time during the summer. I wear it most days during the school year. I love wearing really dark eye makeup when we're going out on a Saturday night, but otherwise I just wear some blush, a bit of eyeliner, and mascara.

I have never had any surgery of any kind, so there's nothing plastic or altered about me. No botox or collagen or any of that other stuff, either. And I am way too lazy to maintain dyed hair. I can barely keep up with getting my bangs trimmed. In fact, I have bangs but I've been wearing them swept up with the rest of my hair because I haven't gone in for a quick trim. Pathetic, I know.

I definitely don't wear fake nails. I do too many art projects to have anything on my nails, and I just don't like the look of acrylics, anyway. I keep my nails neat and trimmed, and I'll paint them every now and then.

Oh, there is one thing: The only think that isn't natural on me are my four front teeth. I have porcelain veneers over those four teeth. Otherwise, it's all what the good lord gave me!

Hair - dyed a really dark brown (natural colour is so black it's almost blue, my dyed colour actually looks more natural)

Nails - natural but I like to polish them, does that count? They're in rather dreadful shape.

Usually no makeup outside of work, minimal makeup for work (I have bcps to thank for spotless and even skin!)

FI has ridiculously long eyelashes. I put mascara on him once and he looked like a clown. What a waste on a guy :nono:

I grew my dyed hair out for a solid two years to get my natural color back. After that I kept it for about a year and a half and I recently got really bored of it and put subtle highlights in it. I HAVE had people ask me if I was wearing fake eyelashes before, but nope! They're real. I actually accidentally had a propane tank blow up in my face which singed my crazy long eyelashes off....and they ended up growing back even longer

No fake nails, no fake tans, no plastic surgery.

I wear minimal make-up.

Edited to add info

I am generally. No plastic surgery, fake nails, eyelashes, fake tan, or fake hair. My hair is naturally straight, and I wish I had beachy waves but I'm too lazy to curl it every day.
I'm naturally really blonde, which is probably a good thing... However, I was also born with dark brown eyebrows and lashes, which looks weird, so I have always wanted to try dark brown hair, but I'm scared that I won't like it and I won't be able to get back to blonde easily. I do wear make-up on most days, and I will probably start using botox when I feel I need to.

I usually will wear some eye makeup during the school year, but once school is out- no more. (Unless we are going to a nice restaurant or something) Other than that, i'm natural. No hair extensions, no dye, no fake nails, etc...

I never wear makeup and I don't color my hair. I probably should do something about my hair because I actually have a lot of grey. My hair is so annoying because it's not perfectly straight, nor is it curly. It's straight yet wavy, just enough to look messy by the afternoon. I like to polish my nails occasionally, and they're my own, not acrylics. I guess the only thing I do have done are my eyebrows.

I've gone through phases of having hair treatment and colour, but I think I'm over that now. (Last disaster was a kerastase treatment that failed miserably, so no more.)

I don't have plastic nails, dyed bits, implants, reductions, fillers, botox, waxed bits, shaved bits, or processed bits. I do have mineral makeup on, because it contains sunscreen that I'm not allergic to.

I have no idea if men care for the natural look or not. Other than people looking for a mate, who cares? DH is free to find another if he craves glamour, although he hasn't done so far. ;)) I may or may not look attractive, I'm not even sure - my only big mirror is free-standing, so it's become a sort of clothes horse (ie it is now inaccessible, buried under a mountain of laundry...) I do aim for clean and tidy, though.

No hair dye

No make up

No extensions

No fake nails

No surgery

Clean and washed, with clean underwear and a big toothy grin

Yup, au naturel over here! I don't colour my hair and am fortunate enough to have naturally long, strong nails, so no falsies. I have half decent lashes and very long, thick hair, so no extensions, I have no excuses for that with the amount of hair I have! :cheeky: The one thing I do though, is deploritory cream on my fingers, hands and arms... my hair is totally blonde and hard to see, but my arms are really hairy!! :errrr:

I've danced and cone competitive calisthenics all my life and have had to cake on the makeup and fake tan, so I've sort of come to detest both! :knockout: I wear a bit of makeup now and then, but nothing more than mascara to work usually, too lazy!

Like many of the ladies here, I am mostly naturel... I wax my eyebrows and shave my legs and um, other areas... But that's because I like feeling smooth, not because of real or imagined societal pressure.

My hair is a mess but I leave it to its own devices - it's the only part of me that really reflects my mixed heritage, so for that, I love it. As long as it's clean and shiny, I'm happy.

I only wear make up when I have to look like a grownup (board meetings, PTA, weddings and funerals). The rest of the time I couldn't be bothered.

I love looking at people who are well put together - you know, glossy hair, lipstick, painted nails and beautiful clothes, but I can't be bothered to attempt to achieve that look for myself. Too much effort and far more interesting things I could be doing with my time... Such as looking at sparklies on Pricescope!

I'm all natural. But if I weren't I wouldn't tell you anyway.

I had my last hair colour done in February '08 and have left it to go natural since then. I figured I am 50 now, who am I trying to kid? I am a brunette with gray streaks that I am liking a lot. Other than that I always wear make-up just so people don't think I have let myself go.

Just me here. No color, false eyelashes, nails, extension, or anything other. I wear mascara daily, but only full makeup when going out for a special occasion or something.

As for body hair, off off off.

I sometimes put plant based henna in my hair, which introduces a reflective color, but only visible in the sun... it's very subtle, and no-chemicals are involved. I do like a nice pedicure too!

My hair is curly and natural. Wash and wear, I haven't even straightened it in 2 yrs.

I don't usually wear make-up. Mostly too lazy. Even when I do, it's usually lip gloss, a little eyeliner for accent, and mascara. I never really learned to 'do makeup'. Need to work on that...

I've had laser hair removal, which I've planned to do since age 14, LOL! My hormones went INSANE when I started BCP's at about age 24, so I had to do something, I was growing hair in all the wrong places! :errrr:

I also wear deodorant whenever possible :wink2:

I'll admit it, I get highlights to make my hair blonder. About every 6 weeks or so, I think I started those when I was 13. I do blow dry my hair, but I don't even own a straightener.

Other than that, I'm natural. I don't wear any make up on a regular basis, I'll throw on some mascara and maybe eye shadow if I'm having a night out. I cannot stand fake nails (considered trashy where I live), but I get the occasional mani and I keep my pedi up since I wear sandels all the time.
No fake tan, no fake eyelashes, no surgery, did have braces, no tattoos but pierced ears and belly.

Normal grooming/hair removal (on areas other than my head :naughty: ), which I think varies culture to culture.

Oh yes, I do use whitening strips on my teeth from time to time, but I haven't gotten it done at my dentist.

Ditto: no perming, coloring hair, nothing to eyebrows, though I do make my body bathing-suit ready. Beauty regimen is soap, mosterizer, tinted concelar on "spots", and if going out, tinted lip balm. I paint my toenails but not my fingernails.

However I'm in my forties and definitely thought, maybe I need to do a little some freshening up? But the only change so far is that I keeping my hair shorter in a layered style, verus long, one length and in ponytail. Once you hit a certain age, long hair rather than being youthful, actually makes you look older. If I were brave I would get a very short (pixie) cut.

I colour my hair but won't get extensions, I like the look of good acrylics but can't get them because I play sports, I wear make up all the time, but have had no plastic surgery. So I'm mostly natural, I guess...

I didn't answer my own post....I thought I was really au naturel, until my husband reminded me of a HUGE alteration that I forgot about. I have naturally light sparse eyebrows, and always had to pencil them in. Last year I finally bit the bullet and got them tatooed :o . It's really subtle, and natural (done by the cosmetologist to the stars in Taiwan) and I completely forgot about it! Now, I can just get up and go most days and not put on any make up if I don't want to. That was the one area of my face that needed it!

My hair is naturally dark brown with natural golden highlights, and it's really straight and thick. Pretty much wash and brush, and I just let it air-dry.

I'm an au naturel femme.

I was a teenage goth, so I got the pancake makeup and the hair dye onto, and out of my system early. I shave my legs and pits because while I'm ideologically in favor of gender parity when it comes to the fuzzies, I'm honestly happier when everybody shaves. But I do succumb to the allure of removable stuff: my nails are short for the silversmithing, but almost always painted, I use that 12-hour lipstick in bright colors with great results, and as for the eye makeup ... well, let's just put it like this.

The first time I was in Venice, I got terrible food poisoning on my last night. The next day, we were supposed to fly to Sweden so I could meet my inlaws for the first time. So, after a night of worshipping at the altar of the porcelain goddess, my then-fiance finally woke up and commiserated with me, went to shower, and came out to find me contrasting my green pallor with a little eyeliner and mascara. "What are you doing?" he asked? "The bare minimum for self-respect," I croaked.

We all have our standards, right?

"The bare minimum for self-respect,"--HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You crack me up, Circe.

I will admit it. Im a a priss and i totelly love it. Well not totallyits lots of work, but still. SO love that im a priss too. I dye my hair, Light golden brown in the summer, with Hair extensions( not the britney spears glue in ones) and Dark Brown with red undertones in the winter( almost my natural colour). I usually do Fake nails, not all the time, it makes playing the guitar hard( just got them done this week, super cute pink tips with a checkerboard look). Also, i am a big no hair person. Got lucky no hair on arms and above knees, but i either shave my legs or wax them myself, along with Pitts, and than of course other grooming areas
I only do False eyelashes for special occsions now, before i was wearing the individual lashes and they are really hard to keep up. Youd be surpise how easy it is to go with just lip gloss with those lashes. I will admit ive had liposuction, and am looing foreward to the removal of the skin it left. I generally work out about an hour a day now.
As far as makeup goes, i dont wear foundation, i dont like cloggin my pores. I usually for work, wear a light brown eyeshadow, some masacra, and than a lip stain with lip balm over it. The weekends i tend to like to match my eye shadow to whatever im wearing( not like a clown though) and ill put some eye linear on( gel eyes linear is the best and it stay on FOREVER) than ill do a dark lip stain and lipgloss instead of balm. O, and when we go out, i so masterd the smokey eye look and tend to put some of the colors i wearing into the smokey eyes, like if im wearing Pink, than some hints of pink are blended in with the black eyeshadow or the grey..
