Hi ladies,

We just took the exciting step of comissioning my engagement ring (yay!) and I am already thinking bands...The ring is a semi-bezel, similar to the one in the pic below (apologies about the gigantic size). I''d love to see your semi-bezel and band, or hear any suggestions on what you think might be a good match.

Thanks!

Dinamit

I may be completely alone in this opinion, but I think a channel-set band would look great with that style of engagement ring

i love that setting!

Hi Dinamit,
sorry I just wanted to chime in quickly as I''ve been a bit out of the loop on PS lately.
Anyhoot, having had many bands and a few semi bezels resets I would recommend with your ring depending on how sparkly you''d like to go or if you like colors are as follows:

scattered band
bezel band
bar set bands
bezel colored sapphires and diamond bands.

if I have some pictures, I can dig them up, but I''m trying to finish some year end/tax projects at work.

BTW- love the semi bezel choice, reminds me of a Mark Patterson semi bezel design.

Ok,,, here is a collage of different bands I'm thinking would look Fantastic with your semi bezel...

ETA: uggg, sorry I am having trouble attach

I plan on pairing mine with a rounded 2mm or less plain band.

I have tried on a channel set band which does look nice as well as a micropave one.

I also tried on one with like intertwining bands, which I thought looked really nice. My plan of action is to try MANY on. For classic sake, I'm most likely going to choose what I stated first.

ETA: My ring The profile has been lowered a little since these pictures were taken.

I''m getting a three-stone semi-bezel and am planning to get a plain band but would love to get a channel for an anniversary down the road!

Wow ladies, thanks so much for all the responses and suggestions. I haven''t had the time to log on all day, and what do I find? Great pics, lovely rings...Pricescope rules!

Lilyfoot, we are on the same page, channel set is my no.1 choice so far, although it did look nice with a simple D-shaped band too...I also considered a scattered band, but I think I prefer the timeless elegance of the channel set.

Bella_mezzo, thanks so much! Really glad you like the ring.

sapphirepulse, what a wonderful set you will have! I can hardly wait to see it on your finger. It must make waiting agonising, hope it won''t be long!

D&T, as usual you outdid yourself! I''ve always admired your pieces, so thanks for taking the time to put together the very helpful collage. I am having a hard time imagining a bar set band with a semi-bezel, have you seen any examples on PS? Also, can you recommend some vendors that are reasonably priced? We are ona budget. So you say you are out of loop? That''s an understatement where I''m concerned, it''s been months since I last logged in - we''ve been super busy with the move + my son is a toddler now - need I say anything else? Good to see you!

Bleed_Burnt_Orange, I loooove your ring, it''s awesome the way you can see the whole diamond. I think you have a very good strategy when it comes to choosing a band.

lucyandroger, I think we might end up doing the same, as we are on a budget, unless we can find a good deal. I am considering going with a half eternity channel set band, but then again, plain bands work well with semi-bezels IMO too. I woud love to see you ring.

Hope I haven''t forgotted anyone. Keep them coming ladies, this is turning into a lovely thread!

I also love a channel set with a semi bezel!

I know there are a lot more lovely half bezels out there, so ladies please share!

Thanks!

i never get tired of pics of this!

in this shot it almost looks like a flower bloom with the 4 sections of the split bezel...yum!

I am a big fan of scattered bands personally with nice solid shank bezels, like the one posted further above. A nice balance of sparkle and durability. Or, more specifically, a compromise that works for me between having bling, or a solid band. I also think the scattered band has a presence all on it's own without overshadowing the e-ring.

However I come from wanting to wear my wedding band ALL the time even if I cannot always wear my e-ring for some reason and I have personally found my current micro-pave ring is just not great for this. And, I just don't like channel set as to me they don't seem that timeless for some reason! I know some people really like them and it certainly look great with a bezel!

I am actually currently getting a replacement wedding ring set made with scattered bands (center is a blue sapphire) - though not a bezel :)

Here is my semi bezel. I usually wear it this way. I have a shared prong eternity that I sometimes stack with it when I want more bling.
