I would love to see your original wedding rings and then a reset. I first got married with a Tacori e-ring, and a Simon G domed miceopave band in 2008. Then in September of 2022 we reset my center stone, and got the matching wedding band for this Simon G nr468 set.

I am happy that I got a new look, but kept my original stone. I had several stones that kept falling out of my original wedding band, and so my solution was to just see what’s out there and I fell I love with the Simon G nr468. I do have the Tacori that sits empty, and sometimes feel sad that I did the reset because in its glory days with that wedding band they were divine.

I’d love to see your resets, and story behind it. Simple stats: Original Tacori and Simon G rings were both platinum, size 4 with a center 1.12 F SI1 stone. New Simon G set is 18k white gold size 5.25 (fingers never were the same after having a child)
I’m hoping to take stones from my first wedding band, and a have another custom wedding band band made out of them.

I have reset a lot of things. None of them are technically an engagement ring though.

I don't have this back yet, the center is from the CvB Cora setting. Middle ring in this photo. I don't seem to have a lot of photos of that one.




I took the center from that, and the sides from my platinum three stone- not pictured here. Sides are just above .90 each and did a new three stone. So, it's .90ish, 2.34, and .90ish.

Scrapped the old platinum three stone setting where the sides came from, because I'd already removed that ring's center. The platinum three stone had a 1.4 and I have that on consignment loose.

The Cora will end up with a lab grown ruby probably.

New setting, but have not received yet (platinum).

Long story, but I had a wedding set with a smaller, very included center diamond that fell out after about 13 years. Around our 15.5 year anniversary, I got a three stone Assher, and while I loved the stones in it, there was something about the setting that was off to me, and I didn't wear it very often, and in the 14 or so years my knuckles got bigger, and my fingers got poofier. Earlier this year, I wandered back to pricescope, found David Klass, and had my three stone reset! It's amazing what a setting can do--the stones are just magical now! Unless I'm doing heavy cleaning or camping, I wear it just about every day.

Original ring. I may try to have something made with the remaining stones and a colored stone center for our 30th next year.

Checking in if anyone has any new resets! I was going through my things and pulled out my original Tacori setting from 15 years ago compared to my current setting. Woah it needs a good polish sand spa treatment. I’d like to purchase a lab diamond so I can wear it again from time to time.

Before, it was in a really high WG setting that didn't suit my lifestyle at all (sorry I didn't take any side pics so the only photo of the setting is amongst some other jewellery)

After, reset into a cuff ring / between the finger / toi et moi.

Good question!

One of my initial concerns is whether the asscher would be too small but when I look at rings where both the stones are more similar in size, I feel like neither stand out whereas in my ring, it’s obvious that the OEC is the main event.

Due to the setting, it doesn’t spin so the proportions work well in that way.

Old setting...it was about 9mm high. Way too high and very difficult to find a wedding band that set with it nicely. Finally
decided to reset it several years back and I'm so glad I did!


New setting (sorry about the size). This one is a more reasonable sub 7mm high.

The diamond from my e-ring was originally in the setting on the left. I wanted an octagonal setting and DK made the one for me on the right. I put a Tanzanite in the original setting. I do need to take a better photograph, though!

I just did the same thing and it is so much fun to be able to take the original back out for special occasions! Beautiful rings!!
