they look very different in different lighting

That's why I sent photos of inside and outside, sun and shade. Tahitians are very tricky to photograph so you should get several photos :) I thought these were really pretty and am glad you love them !!

My first strand of pearls (how exciting!) 8-8.5 mm, 16 inch, natural white (not bleached) with gold overtone. A lot of orient on these, hard to photograph.
origin: Pearlescence
So beautiful! Stunning! I’ve always admired that style and strands like that!

Thank you Bluegemz, I'm very happy with my first necklace purchase. Bought it as a strand, chose the length and it was strung for me by Wendy from Pearlescence, it's 16 inches. She did a great job! This was one of only two natural white strands with gold overtone and I jumped on it as soon as I could. It is AA+, not AAA, but for me it's AAAAAAA if you know what I mean, love at first sight.

Love at first sight means that it is meant to be. They could not be more beautiful!

This is the only pic I have of my pearls on my phone that my late husband bought for me. They are priceless to me!

I just received this pendant in the mail from RocSeaCreations on Etsy, out of Honolulu. The pendant has three 10 mm Tahitians (peacock, deep aubergine, and light pistachio) with 14k gold filled findings between.

I’m really happy with this seller! The pearls are lovely and of good quality—a steal, actually, since she was running a sale when I nabbed this. And her shipping was super fast.

Now that I have the pendant in hand, I’m really impressed with how well she captured the pearls in the photo for the listing.

Anyway, I plan to wear this tomorrow with a black wrap dress with a deep V-neck. Happy Friday Eve!

I went to Intergem swearing I wouldn't buy anything..but my favorite Pearl vendor had these silver blue akoyas (8-8.5 mm) and I had to have them. Waiting for her to get home to strings as she needs to add a few more pearls to make a 20 inch strand.

(They have a more defined blue overtone when held up)

Nacrelover, sorry for digging out this old post, but I am super curious about where to get such small SoC pearls. I hear the big ones are so very rare but I still cannot find the small ones anywhere, it seems in Douglas' web shop only 10mm+ ones are listed...
Marionberry, I contacted Douglas and asked what he had in stock. I asked for round and colorful keshi to use in this project. He sent photos and then brought them to the ruckus in California for me to see in person.

Hello Everyone!
I'm a constant pearl thread lurker but haven't made it over to post- until now!

Heres my little contribution;
-Two separate antiqued leather slide knot bracelets that I made myself with two hand picked Tahitian pearls. I edited the photo to better show what I see in person. One has a greenish tinge and the other a pink tinge. Oh how I love highly circled Tahitians! I have another larger circled peacock coming in the mail any day now, which I will make another bracelet with (:

- Heres a pearl ring that I recently bought. Photos are all vendors.
The center pearl is white at 9mm and is set in a 14k yellow gold setting with two rubies, one on each side.
Ever since I saw it its been a dream pearl ring ;(for a light non Tahitian pearl anyways.)
I had been lusting for it for over a year and a half now and it never sold. Finally she started accepting offers and took mine! Yay!

Here's the new addition, my lil' peacock Tahitian (:

I used purple leather cord instead of my usual antiqued brown leather and the bracelet has quickly became a staple in my wardrobe. Making them is a lot of fun and I love how they look!

Here is my mikimoto piece. I got these at the Japanese duty free airport. I have a couple pairs of Mikimoto and this one is my absolute hands down favourite. I'm even good about it and wipe them after each wear!

My new 10mm light gray with green ovetones Tahitian pearl silver ring. I love the texture of the ring with the luster of the pearl :) Sorry for not the best pictures, but I think you can still see the green overtone in the pearl.

My new tin cup akoya pearls. I was surprised that I really can see the difference between these pearls and the gem quality freshwater strand I have. This is a replacement Christmas gift for the golden south sea strand my husband got me, which I didn't think was as wearable as something like this.

Your tin cup is gorgeous, @vintageloves! Luster is just wonderful :appl:

May I ask which vendor they are from?
