Hi, I’m so excited to see this new category! I’m into drawing and painting, and I would love to see other people’s work and chat art as a hobby.

Oh, I did, I did!!!! and I do. They are beautiful. I am not surprised, as I love your jewelry too. Thank so much for posting...love it!

Love the dreamy style of the last one especially, so art deco in the vibe.

Thank you! I just like to play with watercolor, when I'm not into making jewelry.
That last one is my homage to Alphonse Mucha, whose work I admire.
The cat is my very own Miso.

@stracci2000 by the way, I tried to learn watercolor, and it was probably the most frustrating and difficult medium I have ever worked in. I still haven’t managed anything cohesive. I’ve gravitated back towards my acrylics and or sketching. I recently picked up some water soluble oil paints that I’m excited about trying oh, and also I took a Stainglass course a week ago and that was fun.

I have trouble with the big splashy watercolor techniques, too. Mostly because I can't keep my paper from warping.
So I have gravitated to a more tight, controlled style which I really enjoy.
Stained glass! I always wanted to try that!
I love stained glass, because it is jewel- like, of course!

@stracci2000 you would be such a natural with stained glass! The class was not too bad in price and I made a 5x5 simple quilt shape. You’d love the glass cutting and soldering is a skill you already have.

I'm not an artist but here are a couple of mine Wifey's paintings.
She had not done any painting since high school when she did these.
She took a couple 4 hour classes and these are the 2 paintings she did in those classes.
She always amazes me with what she can do! :}

Wowza!!!

Wowsers, @stracci2000! You definitely have talent and skills with watercolor. I took a class (the teacher was diabolically distracted...) and although I really wanted to love it, I ended up detesting the medium. I'd wanted to take an acrylic course, then opted to do a language class that was at the same time, thinking I'd pick up the acrylic course the next time it was offered. No-o-ope! It wasn't offered again.

My sister is an excellent artist and watercolor painter. Mind she also has an arts degree and makes a living with various art mediums.

So I started sketching, then finally found another acrylics course, and did that. It was amazing! I loved it. Have to rummage to find photos. I was on a roll up to last fall when we adopted our wee furry companion, and haven't touched painting since November, although I think about painting.

Another couple friends are amazing at watercolor, and it intrigues me how differently our brains work! It's painting in negative space that warps my tiny mind...LOL!

Thanks SparkleBug! I have a basic art education which absolutely helps with composition, perspective, etc.
Quality paper and paint is essential, too.
But then it comes down to how you put it all together.
I especially love florals and human subjects.
It's great fun, right?
