I have had good luck with the O, but you have to be careful and choosy.
I generally stick to buying things which have a lot of positive reviews.
Jewelry is my big weakness at this site so I have quite a few pieces and I''ve bought quite a few as gifts for others and they''ve always been thrilled.
My favorite is this bead set diamond and ruby ring which I bought as a gift for myself a few years ago (promotion).
I will try to post a good pic even though I''m in a office with flourescent lighting and only an iPhone for pics. You can''t tell from this picture, but the rubies are a true, deep, blood red and the diamonds are nice, white and sparkly.
On the page that jstar linked there''s a little 3 stone pink tourmaline 10k ring. I got it for my sis for her graduation. It looks JUST like the pic. Very well made and adorable. It was at Ice.com for quite a bit more.
I bought a ring from Overstock once and it came crooked. It was an emerald cut sapphire and on each side it had three diamonds that were set in a triangle. On one side of the sapphire the diamonds connected at a lower spot than the other side. It was very noticeable. However, I bought a second one and then returned the first (since I bought it on a credit card it didn''t really matter I had two purchases for $100+). The second ring they sent was not crooked and is fine. I don''t have any personal pictures at the moment, but here the stock link:
I bought something from Overstock a bit like this a couple of years ago - it had 1/4ctw channel set, but it was a bit wider.
It was something like $150 so I figured even if I hated it it wasn't the end of the world. The band was fine, but the diamonds really didn't sparkle at all, and they were set visibly crookedly; I returned it. It got some great reviews and some awful reviews, and really nothing in the middle - maybe I just got a bad one?
ETA: That was my only Overstock jewellery purchase, though I make good use of the ton of bedding I've got from them
I bought what was supposed to be a sapphire and diamond band a few years back. When it arrived, it was ruby. I wore it for awhile trying to get used to it, but it hurt like crazy! My fingers were getting all chewed up so I returned it.
