This thread is for the folks who love automatic watches....all watches welcome as long as they are mechanical. Pictures of the back view (if they are a view back) are appreciated. Let's see those pretty little engines.

I know there is an amazing thread for fabulous luxury watches, but I would love to see your watches that may not fit the criteria in that thread, but are beloved.

I'll be back with mine later - I love watches.

Rado DiaStar - a 70's design that tends to polarize folks. Next is a 1853 diamond Tissot Chronometer and a Hamilton Lady Jazzmaster open heart.

Very nice watches! I love the back of the Hamilton watch

He's a lovely bear. I love the back. I could look at movements all day long. As wonderful as jewelry!

Can I post an antique pendant watch?
This one is sterling guilloche enamel with marcasite.

They're wonderful. I love ladies' pocket watches. Do you know anything about them?

The pocket watches all date to about 1900-1912. They range from 800-935 silver. The two pendant watches are from the 1920's.
They are all Swiss, except for the one with the blue face. It is a Swiss case, but the movement was made by the The New England Watch Co. in Waterbury CT.

This watch belonged to DH's grandfather.
It's a Longines from 1925.
It keeps perfect time.
We need to replace the Speidel band with a leather band more appropriate for the period.

Wonderful. I love the old vintage. It looked familiar. The Irony looks like my Hamilton Ardmore. The style still in production since 1937. This is a quartz.

Stracci2000, if you ever want to get it serviced, I know someone who is respected in the watch circles that can service the old watch to keep oils etc in good shape. I don't want to post him here...but hit me up on LT if you want his info. He was worked in the teeny vintage ladies watches for me.

I thought of you with this Russian Chiaka watch. It runs when it feels like it :)
Also a mid century Titus watch Nos and a Nos Bulova...1960ish. They belonged to a watchmaker estate way back. The Titus has my smallest movement.

I'll play! this watch I bought specifically because I loved the way the movement looks. I also fell in love with the face.
Eternamatic 1950s 1414U - the movement picture is off the net as I don’t have a picture of mine.

This is my other automatic watch, a Hamilton Thinomatic. Not a pretty movement much to my chagrin but that face :kiss2:

They are so awesome.

Oh Bron. You brought the tribe along. :) I love how diverse your collection is. The mystery watch collection is a knockout. I love the look of them too. The pocket watches are little treasures...and with the chains. I swear...why did we stop carrying pocket watches?

The Longines, the sweet little diamond confections from back in the day, as much jewelry as watches.

That Rolex looks very vintage, what year is it from? It's beautiful.

I really love the collection - thanks for the post

I love your DiaStar! I have a two-tone version myself. Back in the day, I worked in a jewelry store which sold Rado. A woman walked in and asked to see "good" watches that were reasonable in price. I took her to the Rado case and pointed toward the DiaStar. Her response was, "Oh, no! Not Rado. I got one of those 20 years ago, and it never stopped working. I finally threw it into a drawer. I hate that thing!" First, I offered to buy it from her (which she refused), and then I resolved to get one for myself as soon as possible ...

Thank you. The DiaStar are an acquired taste for people, I think ;-) That's a funny story - too bad the lady didn't let you buy it. I suppose it would be a bad thing if you were gifted a watch you hated and patiently waited for it to die. HAHAHA, yeah, Rado would be a bad choice to wait it out.

Do you still wear it?

Yes, I do! I love the design. It's unfortunately gotten hard to see the date nowadays due to age, but it's just a style that I never see on anyone else. I hope you're still wearing yours as well!

I have the same struggle with the small dial. New progressives are helping. I also like the fact she is different..She's on today. Thankfully gold is back in style.

They're my daily watches and thank you! there's something about those midcentury faces that really speaks to me. I stalked the Thinomatic on eBay and actually woke up at 2am to bid on the auction :lol-2:
