I am on a mission to find a locket and looking for inspiration! OK Pricescope, upload your pictures :appl:

I like lockets with intricate metalwork. But the downside is that they can get pretty dirty. I have one that I need to clean and then take some pictures of.

I hope this gives you some ideas. I really like the intricate metalwork, but the small grooves tend to attract white dirt (oil/salt?) deposits on the piece. Tried my best cleaning with dawn and a toothbrush, but you can still see some spots inside in the harder to reach areas. I think I need to drop it in an ultrasonic with distilled water and blow dry it to get rid of them.

Thanks Thbmok! Your locket is lovely  The design is very intricate. I appreciate your photos :appl:

Strolling eBay, I pulled the trigger on this locket as the auction was ending. It is listed as a 20mm 9ct RG locket from the early 1900s. I am not familiar with 9ct gold or if it is truly an antique but pretty nonetheless. I am concerned about it being a little to small and may gift it to my mother. She will appreciate it :))

I was going to start a locket thread but saw this so am bumping this thread because I cannot believe only two people replied. I have been looking at lockets lately and they are so pretty and I would love to see some from the PS community collection. I know @LemonMoonLex has a beauty as well as @mrs-b. I’m sure @PreRaphaelite and @stracci2000 probably have them too!

I love lockets! There is something mysterious about what might be in them!

This one is 10k, from a thrift shop.
I really wanted a gold one, and had been looking online for a while. Then suddenly this just fell in my lap one day!

This one is gold filled, with paste stones.
It is about 1.5" across.

This is also gold filled. I don't know the age, I haven't researched the marks.

This one was from Goodwill. It is gold filled, with paste. The photo makes it look worn. It is not, the dark areas are just shadows.
About 1880-1900

This one is sterling, probably from the 1980s

I have a few more and I will photograph them later.

I used to dismiss the gold filled ones, but in recent years I have came to appreciate them so much more.

I love lockets. They are so romantic 2CC24B1C-DD85-4271-B097-7B2086FDFF2B.jpeg177796D2-985A-4ECE-9054-F4C9FE6DD3F8.jpegThe two smaller ones are Edwardian, the bigger one is a whopper and dates from the 1960s. They all took a long time to find....the antique etched one was my daughter’s Xmas present, we were up late the night before trying to cut our photos for it!

My favorite locket given to me by my parents over 4 decades ago.

That's gorgeous!

Here's mine. The gold (18kt) one I wear with an 18kt chain or a blackened silver chain. The silver has rose cut sapphires. I adore lockets.20220129_220640.jpg
