I find it inconvenient to search for pictures of all the fluorescent / phosphorescent diamonds posted on Pricescope. Let’s put them all in one place. Please post your fluorescent / phosphorescent beauties here! Feel free to post links to your own threads!

I recently finished a 7-stone (AVC) project:

Well, I love it...AND I just got a black light today, and 5 of the AVC diamonds are fluorescent and phosphorescent! They have blue/green fluorescence, and they glow orange for a full minute after I turn off the light!!

My engagement ring arrived today and I absolutely love it! We'll take it to our jeweler tomorrow to get it appraised and re-sized. One thing I'd love to know more about is phosphorescence in diamonds. While playing with my diamond tonight I discovered that it's not only has a blue fluorescence it also has a orange phosphorescence that lasts about 20 seconds.

How common is this? As a scientist I love this but I would love to know more about it! Any information is greatly appreciated!

After checking my diamonds for Fluor, I noticed one glowing after I removed the uv light. I had my son help me take photos, as I am horrible at it. The phosphorescent glow is the same color as the glow in the dark toys kinda green yellow color. Three hours later it was still glowing. I don't know when it stopped because I fell asleep. But I did go into to a lit room and then back into a dark room and it still was glowing.

The second photo is with me taking away the uv light and the third is an hour later. It's hard to see. I need a better camera but hopefully you can see it in the photos.

Greetings Expert Price-Scopers ;
This evening I discovered a Diamond I own is not only Fluorescent but also Phosphorescent - It glows bright Yellow for around 5 seconds than fades to a chalky white colour (still illuminated) for around 10 seconds.

I'd love to know any more info on Phosphorescent diamonds as many I've seen on the Net are Fancy Coloured Diamonds not Colorless Stones.

Stone Stats;

0.96ct Marquise

10.06 x 5.22 x 3.02

Strong Blue Fluo

IGI (Mumbai)

I was looking to move this stone on as lately I've not really worn it & Now I've discovered it's Phosphorescent I am even more motivated to pass it on to someone who will appreciate it more than I rather than have it languish in my Jewelry Box for another year.

I apologize if my post Breaches any PS Guidelines.

I intended just post this link here, to a thread where I recently posted pictures of my wife's engagement ring fluorescing and phosphorescing... but I guess it can't hurt to re-post a couple of pictures here too :)
The stone is a natural fancy greyish green diamond. It phosphoresces for many minutes after exposure to ANY bright light source (ok, I haven't tried red-light yet, but all regular white light sources - especially the sun!).

First fluorescence with UV light:

Second phosphorescence after exposure to incandescent light bulb:

As I played around with my e-ring I realized it is not only fluorescent but also phosphorescent! The joy! I think is it just an amazing phenomena!

Some questions though: How common is phosphorescence? And can a diamond without fluorescence still be phosphorescent? Or is it a “package deal”?

Attached som pics..
