Show Me Your Diamond Studs!

I just had my 3.08ctw studs reset in platinum 8 prong martinis... love them! I was naughty and fell for a rose and white gold diamond and pink sapphire necklace when I went to pick up my new settings :naughty:

What kind of back do you use on these ? Bigger ones ?

I wanted something a little bit more unique and on the warm side (because of my skintone) so here’s my 3tcw princess cut studs on yellow gold bezel setting with L Color, SI2 clarity.IMG_6211.jpegIMG_6181.jpeg

I am loving these!

I wear either studs or hoops everyday. Both are lab diamond studs which I feel more comfortable buying and wearing. Both are set as low as possible with jumbo backs (highly recommend). Another pair in the works light yellow lab diamonds in 18K brushed yellow gold.

.38 carat (each) D/VS lab diamonds with thicker bezel. 14K unplated brushed white gold

1 carat (each) E/VS faint blue lab diamonds in 14K brushed rose gold, curved 6 prong setting, look like flowers when wearing.

Love those settings

I am so excited to show off my brand new studs. These have been a dream for a long time, but finally a reality.

They are from JannPaul, who as always are so great to work with, and absolutely worth the price and the wait.

Both are 0.4 carat, D-F, VS1-VVS1
One Decagon 10 Hearts and Arrows, one Emerald 2.0

They are incredibly bright - as I am sure we all know they are hard to do justice to with photos.

I found this forum very helpful when I was trying to decide on the size, but my advice is there is no substitute for trying on in person. I went to a few shops in my city, and was very surprised that I did not like anything above 0.5 carats on me, despite loving how larger earrings look on others.IMG_0774.JPG

Loving that decagon!

May I ask who’s made these for you? We have the same taste. I wish we could share a jewelry box!

Wow, those are stunning! It never fails to amaze me how white and dazzling a i or j can look when it is well cut with plenty of contrast. Well done!!!!

They look amazing and like they are sitting right! I’m considering big studs but I have small lobes- any advice for me?

Thank you so much! You have already mentioned what is important. The position on the earlobe is crucial, otherwise slightly larger studs always look strange.

Just for fun...

10.15ctw diamond studs H/SI1 (I think) with pave'' borders.. NO..they aren''t mine. I just tried them on. But there is no such thing as too big, right

I would like to get a smaller version of them..maybe 1 3/4 to 2ctw. The pave'' borders make the studs look at least .50ctw bigger than they are, an added bonus.

Wow! These are impressive...and I'm amazed at how flat they sit on your ears! I know this original post was from MANY moons ago - but am curious what kind of setting these are? I'm reading through all these posts for thoughts of how to reset my diamond studs, since I'm having issues with drooping. (I've done all the things - big backs, etc).

For any of those who might be familiar with these beauties, if you know anything about these settings if @Missrocks isn't active still, please feel free to chime in! Thanks! =)2

And here I am worried I'll lose one of my $50 sterling silver studs. :D

There's some lovely diamond studs in this thread. Does the type of back or something make these not that likely to fall off?

Hi, I use Chrysmela locking backs. It has a locking mechanism in it which is very strong.

These are my current studs 1.25 carat. I was thinking it might be time to upgrade but I’m worried the diamond will sit too close to the bottom of my Lobe. How much of your earlobe should show around the diamond?IMG_4571.pngIMG_4572.png

With the proper setting and backs, the upgrade may not set too low. I would go try on larger diamond studs to see for yourself! These look great on you though!

I also use Chrysmela with the silicone backs to help droop (I have uneven piercings and this product helps to make them appear more even).
