I'm intrigued by how high or low a diamond is set, and how much bigger or smaller the height of the setting will make the diamond appear. Show me how high or low your diamond is set. I'm interested in the top down view as well as the profile. Don't forget to tell me your carat weight and ring finger size!

Thanks in advance.

Here''s mine. This pic is a bit blurry, but you can see how high it is set. It does sometimes get in the way, but I do like how it sits up like in a showcase. I might end up having it lowered just a bit though.

In this pic - the angle makes it look SO much higher than it really is.

Funny how pictures don''t always show things as they really are. In my opinion, IRL, my center stone is too low.
It seems to flow into the side stones and you just don''t see it. I''d like it a wee bit higher.

I have an extremely low set diamond, it basically sits flush in its four-prong setting. Unless you look closely, it may appear that there is less depth - I love my setting but at some point am planning on having a similar one designed but with higher prongs so the stone is showcased a bit more.

I have a rather high set Verragio solitaire. I like the high setting because I think it makes the stone pop more, but I''m resetting the stone into a 6-prong tiffany style setting this summer. I still would like to have it set higher rather than lower, though.

The band tapers from 2.5 mm wide (bottom) to about 3 mm next to the stone. The diamond is 2.01 ct, and my ring size is 5.

Here''s the top view first:

Here''s my Leon solitaire. 1.73 on a 4.75 finger. It''s set as low as possible and I love it! It never gets in the way (I''m very clumsy!) and I don''t think that the low setting takes away from the pop of the stone at all. Profile pic...

her is one showing my profile. Diamond 2.01ct

It sets high. But I think the higher the stone sets the bigger it looks on the finger.

My EC is set pretty high. Here''s a mediocre-looking profile shot, but I think you can tell that there''s a millimeter or so of space between where the diamond ends and where the prongs all meet.

this is my first time attaching a photo, hope this works.

my ring stats are:

1.00ct center RB/F/SI2 (eye clean), ideal cut
sidestones are .15 each RBs
setting is a Jeff Cooper trellis 3-stone ring

I think the fact that the center stone is so low makes it look small. I am hoping to re-set it sometime if I can get permission to re-use the ring in my new relationship ;-)

sorry so blurry!

Here is mine. I worried about how high it looked in pictures but IRL it is just perfect!

My cathedral setting is too high for my taste, although I don''t tend to knock it on anything. It doesn''t bother me enough to change it, however.

2.5 carats on a size 4 finger.

Bebe,

Do you have a close-up shot of the profile of your ring? It looks so pretty and unique - would love to see more of it!
