Hi there !!!
The shank on my ering is 2.46mm at the top, tapering down to a 2.0mm and my wedding band is a 2.5 (no pics of that though) and my finger size is 6.75.
I think 2.5 is PERFECT !
It''s not too dainy yet not too thick... alot of thinner bands seemed to disappear on my hand and the 2.5 mm pave had a presence on my hand but was not overwhelming.. I was worried as well, especially with the band, but I absolutely love it and am sure you will too !!!
Here is a pic of my ering and I will post the thread link with tons of pics of my ering from ALL angles !

Think of it this way too... a 2.5mm band will probably look similiar on your finger to a 2mm band on a size 5 or 6 finger if that helps.

This is my wedding set....2.5 mm pave set. I have a size 4.75 finger which has caused me nothing but trouble with the pave set, due to the fact that it needed downsized so much. In fact, sigh, my rings haven''t been ''right'' since 6 days after my wedding...in March! I''m still waiting!
But I digress....
I love the size on my finger. Any bigger would have looked bulky.
Best wishes!
