Should stones in setting match center diamond??

I'm getting a setting made (most likely a halo with two side stones) and was wondering if color and certification matters for small stones.

If I plan on having a center diamond that is GIA certified (G color or above), should I make sure all the diamonds in the setting are the same color and certification?

How big are the two sides stones? We usually say keep them within 2 color grades of the center stone. Small pave diamonds
almost always look whiter than larger stones.

Small stones in a setting are usually not certified. If you bought a three stone setting and selected sidestones, you could have the option of choosing certified stones. But if you are getting a G color center stone, you will be fine since most quality settings would have diamonds that would work with a G center . Problems more often might come into play when getting a lower color such as K or L. You can certainly ask the jeweler who is providing the setting what color stones are used in that particular setting, though.
