Hey guys and gals,
I currently have another thread going on this Beverley K setting from Pearlmans I'm considering for my 0.6 PoH.
But I'm gonna be a PS hog and start a new one!

Julian is great and sent me some more pics of the BK to help me decide, pls let me know your thoughts if i should get it?
Also, I'm gonna change the prongs from triple to split - however not sure whether I should keep the milgraning (?) or change em to smooth..pls give yout opinions on this!

Does it look like its sits pretty low? I can't tell...

freaky fake hand-shot thingy..shame, my hands aren''t half as sexy as these babies

looks like pretty good finger furniture?

I just lost my first post.

Anyway, it went along the lines of this - DO IT, DO IT NOW!!

That setting is really gorgeous for a RHR, looks like it will sit nice and low and doesn't look engagementy. Classy! I love the detail. Post pics please ASAP!

ETA - I am sure your hands are much nicer. They look strange in an alien-plastic-no-knuckle kind of way. You will have to prove this though with HANDSHOTS!!!!!!!

Beautiful ring! It does look like it sits low. I think changing the prongs to split prongs is a good idea, and I''d keep the milgraining since it adds to the antique look.

Thankyou Kim for your reply and compliments..Its very helpful when someone posts their reasons fot their choices. Helps me stop from wavering

Grrrr..Honey, don''t you hate that when you write summin long then lose it!?
ha ha I''m sure my hands are slightly nicer, but they are very stubby..no long elegant fingers here, *sigh*. But yes, you can all make fun of them when I post 1000 handpics! I have just fired off 20 questions in email to Pearlmans, so will keep ya''ll posted.

Does anybody else like/dislike?
Any suggestions for the prongs?

I say go for it!

It looks like it sits midway. Not terribly low or high. And I''d keep the milgrain, it flows so nicely now. If you removed some, not sure it would look as good.

Hey Ellen,
thx for the post - I didn''t recognize you at first without ur usual avatar! ur new one is so cute...mmm chocolate.

I think I agree about the milgrain - i guess I was just hesitant as this ring is SO different to my usual tastes (ie. modern, sleek, chunkier etc - kinda like ur ring!
2.gif
). But for some reason this one just appeals. I hope it works with my PoH!

So if all my questions from Julian at P''mans come back with the *right* answers, I should have a finished ring in a week or two...

I can see why it would! While I love my ring, I love other things too. We can do that yanno.

And I really do think your POH will look perfect in here.

Can't wait to hear the verdict!

Glad you enjoyed the candy.

Ooooh, that''s gorgeous! I love love love the milgraining. Triple prongs seem a bit of overkill for the overall size of the ring. I agree that smaller and fewer prongs would be better.

Arjunajane, my tastes tend toward contemporary, too... and yet I ended up with an engagement ring with filigree and micropave and milgraining and a halo. And I''m not planning on ever upgrading. (My right hand rings tend to be way oversized, with sterling silver and fused glass.... or a big chunk of onyx, or a topaz.... totally different in style and feel from my e-ring.)

I just saw that Tacori setting and KNEW. Sometimes it just happens that way!!

Ellen, I can''t wait either!
March 8, I just checked the pics of ur ring, its totally pretty, have you got handpics somewhere? Thankyou for posting your impressions, all the PS mbrs that have posted for me have been invaluable in this decision!

Nope, no handshots yet other than the one I posted here.

It''s pouring rain here in Dallas or I''d do some this morning, now that I''ve finally figured out how to resize pics using a Mac. (I''m a Windows girl.)

Our wedding was last Saturday the 8th, and now I have a whole new sparkly to wear and photograph but the weather is NOT cooperating!

Of course, now that the wedding and first honeymoon are over, I have a bit more time on my hands to start my own thread.

Just a quick update for anyone who posted - I''ve switched again, as I really do love the BK, but it was gonna take 5 to 6 weeks, not including delivery to australia - and I want my ring nooow!
3.gif
(stamps foot and frowns like 5yo!)
So by chance I came across a setting called the "sun solitaire" at GOG and will be having it made up special in 18k rose gold for a very reasonable price. This way I can "get to know" my PoH in person before choosing a permanent setting.
And I also wanted RG from the start but couldn''t find anything in my budget, so this is great news!

Thankyou all for your interest, opinons and suggestions, and watch this space for pics in about 2weeks (hopefully less!)

Yay!!!!!! (and yay for making a decision

)

Can''t wait for handshots!!!!

YAY congrats definitely can''t wait for the handshots :)

If you''re happy, I''m happy!

Can you post a picture of the setting? sounds intriguing!

Honey and Deelight thanku both and I promise as many pics as you want!
Ellen, I''m sorry if I disappoint at all not getting the nicer BK setting - I was really sold on it, especially after everyones nice comments. But I know I can always get it in the future, when time and $$ aren''t such big factors - and hopefully when the price of gold has fallen more!
Thankyou for being happy for me..unfortunately there isn''t a pic, I stumbled across the setting in one of Jon''s vids in WG and Marie was nice enough to chase up and have it made in RG for me..so you''ll all have to wait till I get it!

Marie said 10days and this should start early next week once I can find time to get the wire done..everyone cross their fingers for me that the exchange rate stays good - it dropped 3cents in one day on Friday!

Oh good heavens, you''re not dissapointing anyone! You have to make YOU happy, not us. We''ll love whatever you love.

It really does sound neat, can''t wait to see it!!
