Hi Everyone,
Just upgraded from a 1.9 carat princess cut to a 3.01 carat Oval and I LOVE it! I need opinions on whether or not to reset it in a halo...(currently set on band with 1.0 carats of shared prong round diamonds with two half eternity bands at .50 carats each)

If you would like my opinion, I''ll come right out and say it NO!
I think its absolutely gorgeous as is! I love ovals, have a tiny one on my finger infact

Its such a big beautiful diamond I wouldn''t mess with it, maybe change the setting into something more delicate? It would bring out the diamond size even more so, but I like it as is

One vote for yes! I think it would be stunning!

I vote no. I agree with the other poster to go ahead and reset it into a setting with a thinner band. That should definitely help it pop more.

No. Agree with the others, I would maybe reset with a thinner band though.

I''m thinking its too big to halo (and beautiful btw). Unless you put it in a really delicate halo
where the diamonds just sort of peak out from the underside I would so dont do it.

Definitly a thinner band though - would set if off nicely!

Halo? Maybe not. Bezel - now that would be yum.

What is it about the setting that you don''t like? Are you wanting more bling, or just something different?

I vote no as well. It''s a great size, it might take away from the stone.

I vote YES, YES, YES but I am absolutely biased!!!

Beautiful stone, btw!
+ 2. Although I would change it to a solitaire setting and keep the two half eternity bands on each side.

This is a perfect example of where less is more

It is an amazing upgrade which ever way you look at it!

NO! maybe change to thinner band.

I personally would do and east/west halo. Congrats on your upgrade!

No-it sure stands on its own!I agree with everyone that said a thinner band maybe.

I vote no.

A stone that big deserves the spot light all to itself. Halo''s distract from the center stone in my personal opinion.

NOOOO!!! i think your ring is beautiful and stunning as it is. imho, if you do the halo, it''ll be too crowded...

Another no vote.

I have to agree with the others and suggest leaving the center stone without a halo. But that''s my personal preference. If I had that gorgeous rock, I would want it to be the center of attention. Beautiful stone and I really love that oval shape!!

Love east/west halos and bezels.

I think your set is PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW!!! is this your ring?? It''s STUNNING!

I don''t necessarily want more bling...I was just thinking of something different. The setting with my princess cut seemed much more modern and I think the oval is more classic and almost old fashioned....I''m wondering if I should go a different direction...

No way! I think anything over the 3 carat mark looks best when it shines on its own without a halo! Perhaps a thinner or band or one that matches your other two bands to make a big ole'' stack of diamonds on your finger would look nice!?

Honey I think we can put a halo around any stone, as long as the halo is in proportion to the size of the stone and the workmanship is well done. metromom''s oval halo is gorg-e-o-so and Amey''s 5.13 ct halo-ed pear is to die for. You can halo anything, as long as you''re not a solitaire girl at heart.

Nooooo!!! Your ring is amazing as is!! But if you really wanted a change, I`d go with a solitaire setting! Your stone is absolutely fabulous, and it doesn''t ''need'' a halo or any other distraction.

No, I would never consider a halo for an oval of that size.

Any pics of settings that might be nice????
