No, do not buy...Cut Grade: Very Good is not good enough. You should be looking at Excellent and Ideal cut stones.

Edit...
Better yet...if this fits in your budget...

Instead of using the measurements, use these data points instead - this is from the WF diamond:
Depth % 62.3
Table % 55.0
Crown Angle 35.0
Star 50.0
Pavilion Angle 40.6
Crown % 15.5
Lower Girdle % 75.0
Take your original diamond's specifications and feed it into the HCA tool
https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca
Eliminate any diamond that scores over 2.0 as that indicates a high potential for light leakage. All diamonds scoring under 2.0 are worth examining further. The WF diamond, for example, scores a 0.9 and has GIA excellent scores, so it would be worth considering.
Once you have a short list of diamonds scoring less than 2.0, ask the vendor for the Idealscope and/or ASET images to check for leakage and ask for a hearts image to look for symmetry.

Is the girdle very thin or thick?
Those proportions alone don't really explain why it is only VG cut. In fact, those numbers are pretty good
If the girdle is thin~slightly thick, then the girdle could be dug out, painted or both.
flyingpig|1485619072|4121055 said:ok. now we see the whole picture. VG grading is most likely because of "THICK" girdle.
I guess in this case the thick girdle is alright because the diameter and depth is not significantly affected. 7.30mm+ for 1.53ct is reasonable. I have read many posts by experts and computer-generated ASET/IS that a thick girdle has a minimum effect on light return.
The proportions are ideal with HCA score less than 2.0. You saw the diamond in person and you liked it. It is eye-clean. It is a reasonable consideration.
But, I still don't like diamonds with VG cut grade (it is a mental thing), unless there is a HUGE discount. Also, it is very over-priced for what it is at 9K~10k. For that budget, you should be looking at 1.5ct I VS+ or 1.5ct H SI1
