Clarity grade is based on clouds that are not shown.

-----------------------

When you look at the inclusion diagram it is totally empty, and the SI1 clarity grade is based on clouds that are not shown and nothing else. I have heard from some people that this is a bad thing because it means the stone is hazy, and some say it is a good thing because clouds are tiny and hard to see.

My question is:

Do any of you have experience with these SI1 stones with an empty reference diagram and only clouds in them? Are they usually hazy? This stone looks beautiful on idealscope and in magnified images btw.

Thanks so much everyone!

Can you post the pics? And if you have pics, can't the vendor look at the stone for you?

Looks nice! Barry and Judah should be able to advise re: the clouds

Be careful with clouds, they can definitely diminish the brilliance of the diamond. Make sure you ask if this is the case with this stone.

here they are! magnified pics look nice to me.

Looks stunning! I hope it was you that bought it, but I also hope that you asked the vendor to confirm whether the could(s) would be an issue. It doesn't look like it, but you should always double check.

whether or not it makes the stone hazy depends on 2 things. The intensity and the color of the minute particles making up the cloud. get the vendor to verify it on your behalf.
