Firstly I hope I have not posted in the wrong place, as strictly speaking I have not got my ring to show yet, but today I went to the jeweller to hand over my centre stone and in the process also see how the ring was coming along, now this thing is only half finished (if that)he still has to set the shoulder diamonds, put in the centre stone, polish it and all other bits and bobs which he explained but went over my head, however even in its unglamourous state, I am totally in love with it, to the point that I actually had the same excited feeling as when I gave birth

He popped in my loose stone just to get a rough idea and it just looked sooooo pretty, I was so worried as it was bespoke and no CAD design stuff so him totally understanding what I wanted was vital in order to pull this off.

Please tell me I am not the only person who loves her engagement ring as much as the children and actually can not wait to get it home like when you bring your baby home from the hospital

No, you''re not alone at all. How do you think most of us ended up on PS in the first place? It''s a support group for jewelry and gem junkies.

Oh my goodness! You are definitely NOT alone. I love love love my engagement ring, especially the way it shows off with the two diamond bands that I wear with it. I have, though, fallen in love with a new cut - so, I am currently absolutely obsessing (not in the cutsie way - but really keeping an eye on my favorite vendors site for new ones to be posted that might fit my "need" more) over an upgrade. I have decided that the only thing that could be more perfect about the ring I currently have is to upgrade and wrap it in a halo. YUM!

I can''t wait to see pictures of your ring when you get it!! I''m sure, just by posting this thread, that a bunch of us are going to be loving your ring right along with you - once you post pictures!! Can''t wait to see it!

Yup - you''re "normal" for pricescope! I actually stopped the Fed Ex guy and asked if he had my package because I was leaving the house and my Facets band was scheduled to be delivered! (He did have it, btw and I signed for it sitting in my car)

Chocolatedelight, NO, you''re not the only one!

As i''ve said on another thread, my fiance says that he wants to send me to rehab and get me psychological support, coz i''m a crazy diamond addict!

The other day i was e mailing him (at his work e mail

) pictures of my engagement ring taken from every possible angle and especially pictures of my diamond with comments like: Look at my precious little one, my beautiful baby, my beloved beauty, etc, etc, Look at those amazing arrows, bla, bla, bla...

I hadn''t realized how much i had overdone it, until he e mailed me back and threatened to...take my ring back unless i stop harrassing him

The day that i was supposed to get my ring from the jeweller, i went there before the opening time and i had to wait outside until he came! Then he said: Have you been here the entire night???

Are you getting the picture???

OMG you are SOOOO not alone. I have FIVE kids but I am still just as giddy waiting for MY upgrade to be finished. (it is suppose to be done today

) I think waiting for my ring is almost as hard as waiting for my first baby to get here. Though this time I am not as nervous.

PS is a great support area for us Jewel Junkies!!!

Ring was supposed to be finished by the end of this month but I think it will spill into early april, doesn''t help that I am actually away on my holidays for 10 days at the begining of april, so wont be able to bring my baby home till mid April, but as soon as I get it, there will be pictures.

When I first happened upon PS when we were doing our ring research I clicked a link and was in the SMTR forum, and I thought, what a bunch of nutcases....until I got my engagement ring. Now I''m a true believer and one of the nutcases! I have lost a pave diamond in my setting and I can''t bring myself to take it in to be fixed because I don''t want to be without my baby! It''s a sickness I think.

Can''t wait to see your new setting!

lol, that's definitely normal. I probably would have tried to flag down every single fed-ex truck in my neighborhood or on the road seeing if they had my package scheduled that day to be delivered.

I used to say I would stroke it and call it my Precious.

Why not? Statistically speaking, rings reach maturity sooner, cost less overall, can be sold or traded at will, and generally come with a 30-day return or exchange allowed, followed by a generous upgrade or buyback policy. They obey your every whim, too. May or may not keep you up at night. >;-D

Hmmm, when you put it like that kinda makes me want to trade in my fiancee and just stick with my baubles

I just bought 2 Eightstars from a secondhand vendor and because I''m stationed in Iraq it''ll take them 3 weeks to get here. I may not last........
