Show you the laser enscribed GIA # when you pick it up. They had it for a week. The shop is associated with the AGS so I''m not too worried about them having switched it.
It seems from your question that your jeweler didn''t offer show you the laser inscription when you picked up your ring??
I don''t think I''d be too concerned about it. Perhaps you could have asked to see the inscription to ensure the diamond was your diamond, but diamond switching is a criminal act, so, if your jeweler is a reputable jeweler, it''s not very likely they''d take a chance on losing their business.
If you have any doubts your stone is your stone, go back and ask them to show you the inscription.
When I dropped it off the owner made sure it was the same one by looking at it under the scope. But yeah they didn''t offer when I picked it up. I do have a 20x loupe and was able to see it before, barely. but now the prongs are hiding most of it, he did say that would happen when I dropped it off.
It's true that established jewlers have too much to lose to pull that kind of flim-flammery. If he showed it to you beforehand and let you know the prong would obscure the inscription ahead of time it sounds like he was honest with you. To ease your mind you might try examining it under a microscope where it could be possible to make out some of the numbers - or look at the inclusions plot for the crown on the grading report and match it up that way (if it's not FL).
